Our Legacy... • We are the largest program in the state that provides our students with experiences to become effective elementary teachers. • You will have multiple “real work” experiences through practica, internships, clinical experiences, and other formal and informal opportunities in classrooms and other settings prior to graduation. • You will graduate from a program that has a high rate of placement and employment immediately following graduation.
• You will earn an emphasis area of Middle School, allowing you to be certified K-8, opening more employment opportunities for you upon graduation.
Costs • We extend instate tuition ($204.00 per credit hour) to everyone in our program, regardless of your state of residence. • We also waive student service fees (which can be $800 a year) for being off-campus.

What to do right now
• Classes are only two days a week (either Monday/ Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday depending on the year in the program) for the first two years of the program. An additional day may be required during the student teaching semester. • Two years of classes (including work in the field) followed by one semester student teaching. Students will complete a 12 hour emphasis in Middle School. Students are also able to earn Middle School certification in content areas if they also complete at least 24 hours in that area.
• Ensure you have a GPA of 2.75, MUSC 101, ART 101, EDUC 250 prior to graduating Crowder College. • Ensure you take and pass the MoGEA and complete the MEP. • Take any classes for your middle school emphasis areas. • Set up an appointment with me if you have any questions!
Transferring • Begin in the fall semester, cohort model. • First step is to apply at www.MissouriState.edu.
Scholarships • Several transfer scholarships are available (academic, community college, Phi Theta Kappa). • The College of Education also offers several Diversity scholarships. • We accept the TEACH grant (for math and science).
