Our BSW is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, which increases your eligibility for advanced placement in graduate programs and licensure. With a Bachelor of Social Work degree, you can earn your master’s degree in one additional year through our advanced standing degree option. The MSW degree is offered just up the road in Joplin!

The Missouri State BSW prepares you to enter generalist social work practice with an emphasis on understanding and respecting diversity, values and ethics. Generalist social work practice is defined as the use of social work intervention programs to solve societal and interpersonal problems. By blending classroom learning with field experiences, you learn about the many aspects of generalist practice:
