“As mothers, we need to stop raising our daughters to live up to impossible fantasies.” We are setting them up for failure, poor communication, dishonesty, depression, anxiety, internal battles, and standards impossible to live up to. As parents, we only want our kids to see the best side of us…. without realizing it, we are unintentionally setting them up for failure. I will never forget the moment I realized this, the magnitude it had and still has in my life today. My daughter, Ainsley Ross (6 years old at the time) snuggled up to me in our bed on a Saturday morning when she said, “Mommy, I love you, I then looked at her and said, I love you too, baby.
