Performing Arts Music Every music course may be used to fulfill the music/theatre, fine arts, and/or elective graduation requirement.

Chorus I 808 1 credit

9, 10, 11, 12 2 semesters

This fine arts course provides students with a FULL YEAR opportunity to sing with a large group and to explore music from a wide variety of cultures, styles and time periods. No prior experience is necessary to be a part of this choir. Students will expand their knowledge of singing techniques and musicality. Chorus I will perform in concerts at Christmastime and in the Spring. Chorus I is a prerequisite for Chorus II, Mac Melody and A Cappella Choir. NEW

Chorus IA 821 ½ credit

9, 10, 11, 12 1 semester

This fine arts course provides students with the opportunity to sing with a large group and explore music from a wide variety of cultures, styles and times periods for 1 SEMESTER. No prior experience is necessary to be a part of this choir. Students will learn singing techniques and musicality. Chorus IA will perform in the Christmas concert in the fall semester OR the Spring Concert in the spring semester. This course is a prerequisite for Chorus IB. NEW

Chorus IB 822 ½ credit

9, 10, 11, 12 1 semester

This fine arts course picks up where Chorus IA leaves off. Students will have the opportunity to sing with a large group and will continue their exploration of music from a wide variety of cultures, styles and time periods for 1 SEMESTER. Students will deepen their knowledge of singing techniques and musicality. Chorus IB will perform in the Christmas concert in the fall semester OR the Spring Concert in the spring semester. This course in combination with Chorus IA is a prerequisite for Chorus II.

Chorus II

809 1 credit

10, 11, 12 2 semesters

Chorus II continues to build and strengthen vocal techniques. Students are provided with large and small group experience. More advanced levels in theory and sight-singing are covered. Several public performances are included in the course. Prerequisite of Chorus I (or Chorus IA and IB) is required. NEW

Chorus IIA

10, 11, 12

823 ½ credit

1 semester

Chorus II continues to build and strengthen vocal techniques. Students are provided with large and small group experiences. More advanced levels in theory and sight-singing are covered. Several public performances are included in the course. Prerequisite of Chorus I (or Chorus IA and IB) is required.
