*Spoiler* Yes. Yes it is.

For journalists, the addition or subtraction of one word can alter an entire sentence. For chefs, the sprinkling of a single herb can dramatically change a dish. And for the painter, calm and turquoise oceans are rendered tempests from an over zealous daub of black. Balance, is the obsession of all true artists, but have the culinary crafts people of Krasota got it right?

The nine-course immersive dining experience is designed to bring popular artworks to life whilst also reflecting those arty elements in the food. Your dinner runs for approximately two hours and will have you walking out of the venue with a newfound appreciation for form, culinary excellence and the human experience.

A bell tolls in the welcome room, signalling the beginning of this elaborately theatrical journey. “Please find your seat, it is allocated by your name projected onto the table.” Once everybody was firmly seated, we were ready – at least we thought we were. Dinner takes place in a circular dimly lit room, with a dark grey, crushed velvet table taking up the majority of the space. And, delighting the child in us, our seats swivel around giving us a full panoramic pirouette of the staging area. Each course that we’re presented with is not only well thought out, it tells a genuine story from start to finish. The staff are dressed for each course, a sartorial pairing, authentic to the artist’s vision for the piece presented on the screens around us. Dishes are served in unison every time with expert care. Each dish highlights elements of an artist’s life and work, leaving us mesmerised right to the end of every bite.

Without wanting to make it sound like a DVD extra from cuisine scene satire, The Menu, the immersive dining experience at Krasota Dubai is an intricate and meticulously plotted evening that combines all the senses to create a truly visceral moment in time and was a genuine pleasure and a privilege to witness, taste and enjoy.
