Tachograph Analysis

Descartes supplies industryleading tachograph analysis and compliance management software for fleets of all sizes. The company’s SmartAnalysis is a cloudbased service that makes it easier to analyse and interpret analogue and digital tachograph data.

The software is used to analyse more than 1 million tachograph records a month. Paper charts, digital driver cards and vehicle unit (VU) downloads produce masses of tachograph data that is difficult to interpret and use. SmartAnalysis organises and collates tachograph data to generate reports that are easy to interpret.

Compliance management reports supplied via SmartAnalysis can be sent directly to an email. SmartAnalysis also includes drivers’ hours KPIs for the DVSA’s Earned Recognition scheme. SmartAlerts ensure operators are kept up to date and sends automated emails to flag any compliance issues that require attention.

Pre-paid plans from one to five years are the most cost-effective way to subscribe to SmartAnalysis, from £46 per driver per year. Pre-pay customers can purchase a 14-month subscription for the price of 12 months. For fleets with more than 15 drivers, pay-as-you-go accounts are available at 25p per driver per day for digital driver downloads. There is no charge for vehicle unit downloads.

Descartes also offers SmartLicence, which is an automated online driving licence and driver CPC verification solution to ensure all drivers hold a over mobile networks; the company card can stay in the depot and does not need to be moved between vehicles. SmartDownload takes away the stress of managing and controlling the time-consuming process of downloading digital tachograph data. This is a problem for fleets of all sizes but especially when drivers, vehicles and depots are country-wide.

As a web-based system, SmartAnalysis has been designed to be easy and intuitive to use. No IT support is needed to set up an account and start analysing data, but if operators need support Descartes’ customer service is on hand to help with any enquiries.
