his year marks the sixth consecutive commemoration of Collector Car Appreciation Day and Steele Rubber Products is hosting an After Hours Cruise-in. Collector Car Appreciation Day serves to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. So drive your classic car, truck, or hotrod and join us and thousands of others celebrating this day across the nation. Show off your ride and maybe win one of the great door prizes. If you don’t have a classic car, feel free to come hang out and enjoy some free food and drinks as well as all the cool cars. Matt Agosta, President of Steele Rubber Products, said, “This event is important to our hobby, our industry, and our community. It shows that our legislators in Washington, D.C. have come to realize the importance of preserving the history automobiles have played in the growth of our country and the passion restorers have for their vehicles. It also gives our community another chance to have fun together and spend time over shared interests.” Our Collector Car Appreciation Day After-Hours Cruise-In begins at 4pm on Friday, July 10, 2015 and is free to the public. Steele Rubber Products is located at: 6180 E NC 150 Hwy, Denver, NC 28673.

222 Bike Nights 2nd Thursdays in Elkin
J
ump on the bike for a laid back and enjoyable evening the second Thursday of every month at 222 Public House in downtown Elkin.
Located an hour north of Lake Norman, 222 Public House is the Yadkin Valley’s newest hotspot. It’s a combination of sports bar, woodfired pizza place and craft beer pub. And this summer, owners Jeff and Erika Gibbs have launched special bike nights in collaboration with Crossroads Harley-Davidson ® of Wilkesboro and SRM Paintwerks of State Road. “It gives us an opportunity to show people what we have going on at the restaurant,” says Jeff Gibbs. “But more than anything, it’s just a fun night for people to ride in from all around the area and hang out with all the bikes.” The evening includes a live band and cookout, or folks can also order from items on the regular menu.
“We do everything from scratch. We make our own dough. We make our own cheese. We make our own sauce,” Gibbs says. “We use all fresh ingredients on the pizza. We’re also known for our Philly cheese-steak sandwiches and nice selection of North Carolina craft beers on tap.” The 222 Bike Nights take place the second Thursday of every month through September. This is the first year for these events, and Gibbs says they’re already attracting people from across the region, including the Lake Norman area. There is no cover charge for bike nights, which begin at 6pm. (336) 258-2251 or go to www.222publichouse.com. For lodging info, check out www.YadkinValleyNC.com.
