“Fest Your Eyes” On Stokes County For Festival Season
F
e s t iva l s e a s o n re t u r n s as the longest running festival in Stokes County, “Stokes Stomp” marks its 47th year along banks of the mighty Dan River on September 11th. A new festival for f all ar r ives the following weekend along Main Street in Walnut Cove as “FallFest” is born from successes of “SpringFest”. October brings back KingFest in King and in November don’t miss the annual Just Plain Countr y Festival in Walnut Cove. In its 47th year the Stokes Stomp Festival on the Dan is set to entertain, educate, and showcase some of the finest arts, crafts, foods and items from local and regional vendors. Town of Danbury’s Stomp Parade ushers in an action packed single day event, on Saturday, September 11th at 10:00am. Upon conclusion of the parade, three local high school bands kick off an entertainment lineup filled with local and statewide musicians and songwriters. The 2021 line up will have you clogging, two stepping, and flat footin’ near the stage, dance acts and award winning clogging groups show attendees how it’s done. Moratock Park, located in a horseshoe of the Dan River, will be filled with more than 80

vendors of arts, crafts, information, food trucks, and more. Fun for the entire family with face painting, caricatures, woodworking and pottery demonstrations. You’ll be Stompin’ to your hearts content while waiting for the annual Rubber Ducky Regatta to take on the mighty Dan.

orth Carolina is the perfect state to chase waterfalls. Until I started planning a road tr ip with my teenage daughter, I had no idea h ow m a n y o f t h e s e m a j e s t i c b e a u t i e s t h e re a re t o ch o o s e from. I n B r e v a r d C o u n t y a l o n e, there are more than 250 waterfalls, including the popular and often photographed Sliding Rock. The 60-foot natural slide draws big crowds so go early or at off times to avoid long lines that make you feel like you are standing in line for a ride at an amusement park.

he 2nd annual Old Town Revival (OTR) is the Lake N o r m a n ( L K N ) r e g i o n ’s m u s t - s e e e v e n t o f t h e ye a r scheduled for October 2nd, 2021 & is the signature event of Foundation Moto, a custom motorcycle company located in the LKN area, put on in partnership with Spinnerworks Events. The OTR is free to the community for all ages, families & k i d s t h a n k s t h e l i ke s o f t i t l e sponsor Hotchkis Sport Suspension & presenting sponsor Charlotte Tractor Company. This year’s event will be held at the charmi n g ly s p a c i o u s Ke n t o n P l a c e located at 17111 Kenton Dr., Cornelius, NC & will feature some of the most beautifully custom built & vintage motorcycles in the area. The OTR is also a celebration of custom & antique trucks, classic cars, & hot rods.
