ne of the largest gardening shows in the region, the two -day celebration of all things green fills Main Street with plants, yard tools and outdoor accessories.
This Memorial Day Weekend, Garden Jubilee returns to downtown Hendersonville, May 28-29.

Lake Hickory Offers Options For Everyone
W
hether you are looking for a location to rent a boat and cruise, bring your own boat to launch, hire a private charter boat for an event, like Lake Hickor y Adventures, or take your own non-motorized water sports to the water – Lake Hickor y offers options for ever yone. Along the 100+ miles of shoreline you will find tons of fun coves perfect for fishing, paddling, and swimming. Locations like Geitner Park, offer walking trails, mountain bike trails and will soon be the home of the Lackey Memorial Park which will include an outdoor amphitheater, restaurant, and event space onsite and more. This park will also connect to the River Walk which is part of the Hickory Trail Project, most of which are currently under construction. Portions of the River Walk are currently open to the public with a final completion date sometime in 2023. Highlights of the River Walk are accessibility to the Lake for visitors and locals and the connectivity to the other t r a i l s s u c h a s t h e C i t y Wa l k , Aviation Walk, Olde Lenoir Arts

Trail, and Ridgeview Walk. All together these trails will add over 10+ miles of pedestrian friendly path to the Hickor y area. Bring the pups along for the journey and let them play in the dog park, pick a trail to explore or launch your kayak from the easy access points. aterfalls, sand beneath your feet, paddle boarding on the open water, canoeing, kayaking and swimming, are often considered for a summertime vacation to a coastal community, but have you experienced all of these in the shadow of a mountain before? A fishing paradise, the 385acre lake does that is known for its fishing. Non-power boat rentals are available with kayaks, paddleboards, johnboats leading in popularity. Due to its primar y use as a water reser voir, there is no swimming permitted at the lake.
Outside the water there is a 10-acre recreation area that includes 13 picnic tables, a picnic shelter, and playground. A hidden gem at the lake is the Lake Holt Grill and Marina.

Inspired Music Making: Eastern Music Festival

a s t e r n M u s i c Fe s t i v a l (EMF), Greensboro’s nationally recognized classical music festival and summer educational program, returns June 25 through July 30, 2022, for the 61st season. Extraordinar y musicians from around the world gather in Greensboro each summer bringing their talents to per for m the works of the great masters, past and present. Days and nights at EMF are filled with the echoes of music across of the campus of Guilford College. Hund r e d s o f Yo u n g A r t i s t s p r a c tice, perform, and strive for musical excellence; teachers guide and encourage the students; and world-class guest artists and mentors share their talents and wisdom. Stages are graced with virtuo sos on ever y instrument, performing solo works, chamber music, and the gems of classical orchestral repertoire. The 2022 season will include 60+ performances at its home location in Guilford Colleges’ Dana Auditorium, as well as other locations in Greensboro, and one performance in Boone, North Carolina. Centuries of compositions will be studied during the fivew e e k Fe s t i v a l , i n c l u d i n g f i v e world premieres and one U.S. premiere. Featured per for mers this season include violinist L ara St. John (July 2), and pianists Santiago Rodriguez (July 9) and Alexander Toradze (July 3 0 ) .
