What’s in it for me? Moulton College Corporation is ambitious. As a governor, you will be at the heart of how our College operates. You will be responsible for determining what education and training our College will provide and the strategy for delivering it. You will lead the drive for improved standards in teaching and learning by ensuring good control systems are in place as well as challenging areas for improvement.

How much time is involved? The workload is relatively modest. There are 5 Corporation meetings a year and then anything between 3 and 7 meetings a year depending on the Committee you are allocated to. These meetings are usually held in the late afternoon, early evening. We are also keen to appoint co-opted members to join a Committee. If you enjoy the role as a co-optee, you may decide to become a full Corporation member in the future. Full training can be provided. As with many public sector roles, this is a voluntary role and unpaid (although expenses can be claimed).

Interested in applying? The first point of contact should be Geraldine Hulley who is the Clerk to the Corporation. You may also want to talk in confidence to the Chair of the Corporation whose contact details will be provided by the Clerk on request. Appointment is subject to Corporation approval following an interview with a small number of independent governors. You will also be asked to complete an application form and skills audit. In line with both our values and relevant governance codes, we are very keen to welcome people from all backgrounds and identities and we encourage applications from all suitably qualified and experienced individuals.
