Meet the Authors Georgia Twynham Claret - 14.30-15.30
G. L. Twynham wrote short stories and poetry from an early age, but her real passion for writing didn’t truly emerge until she was 31. Writing for her own website and articles for magazines helped to support her and her daughter. Georgia felt there was a need for a strong British female heroine. She also wanted a main character that had a normal family, with problems that most teenagers/young adults in this country might be experiencing and could relate to. And so Val Saunders, daughter to Mike and Susan Saunders, was born.
B B Taylor
Small Hall - 13.00-14.00 B B Taylor, children’s author and full-time daydreamer. Raised in inner city Birmingham, she is the author of several picture books and middle grade books including the Murphy and the Monsters Series and the Curse of the Nomed illustrated by Holly Bushnell. Her appearances are usually jam-packed with energy and often include surprise guests, like characters from her stories.
Tamsin Cooke Small Hall - 10.00-11.00 Tamsin Cooke is the author of The Scarlet Files and Stunt Double series. She loves to travel, have adventures, see wild animals and eat jellybeans. She likes to think her Nahualli (spirit animal) would be a lioness or a jaguar, but her friends tell her it’s a Labradoodle! Tamsin also likes the idea of being a stunt double but isn’t quite brave enough, and so she writes about them instead.
4
Kate Wiseman Small Hall - 11.30-12.30
Kate came to writing late after working in schools for many years. Gangster School is her first novel and it was shortlisted for the Montegrappa Scholastic Prize for New Children’s Writing, the Winchester Writer’s Prize for Children’s Funny Fiction and the Greenhouse Funny Prize. She has since written three more Gangster School books which are published in Germany and Holland as well as the UK. To date she has received a total of two letters from fans of the series. Kate is an animal lover and cat minion who loves mudlarking, charity shops and raspberry pavlova. Her pet hates are raisins and sultanas.
Alex Marchant Small Hall - 16.00-17.00 Born and raised in the rolling Surrey downs, and following stints as an archaeologist and in publishing in London and Gloucester, I now live surrounded by moors in King Richard III’s northern heartland, working as a freelance copyeditor, proofreader and, more recently, independent author of books for children aged 10+. My first novel, Time out of Time (due out 2019), won the 2012 Chapter One Children’s Book Award, and my second was put on the backburner in 2013 at the announcement of the discovery of King Richard’s grave in a car park in Leicester. As a Ricardian since my teens, that momentous announcement prompted me to write about the real Richard III for older children (there being no such book available), and so The Order of the White Boar and its recently released sequel The King’s Man were born. The Order of the White Boar has been described by the Bulletin of the Richard III Society as ‘a wonderful work of historical fiction for both children and adults’ and The King’s Man as ‘a brilliant, gripping, heart-wrenching sequel’.

Judith Allnatt Manfield - 11.30-12.30

Her third novel, The Moon Field, described by The Times as ‘deeply moving’, is set in the First World War and was featured on BBC News Channel’s ‘Meet the Author’. Judith’s latest novel, The Silk Factory, is a beautiful and eerie story of love and memory. Judith has lectured widely on Creative Writing for universities and freelance for over two decades and is a Royal Literary Fund Fellow. She lives with her family in Northamptonshire and is working on her fifth novel.
Sarah Ward
Manfield - 13.00-14.00 Sarah Ward is the author of three DC Childs novels, In Bitter Chill, A Deadly Thaw and A Patient Fury set in the Derbyshire Peak District where she lives. The fourth in the series, The Shrouded Path, is out in September. On her website, Crimepieces (www.crimepieces.com), she reviews the best of current crime fiction published around the world. How do I book? Tickets can be bought before the day online at wegottickets.com/moultonlitfest or from The Forget Me Not Cafe. Alternatively, tickets can be bought on the day as you enter the Community Centre.
What does the ticket entitle me to? The ticket gives you access to as many author events as you like. It is a one-off price for the whole day.
What is a Family Ticket? As there are different sizes of family, there are two alternative family tickets. The £8 ticket is for one adult and two children. The £10 ticket is for two adults and two children. For family groups with three or more children, there is an extra £1.50 for each child.
How do I sign up for events? When you arrive at the Community Centre, proof of ticket will get you a wrist band which entitles you to entry to the author events.
