Get to Know ‘Em Meet Breanna Peloquin
My name is Breanna Peloquin and I am the dean of students last names He-Lo. I have lived in Minnesota my entire life, attending North High School in North St. Paul and receiving my Bachelor’s degree from Winona State University. Although this is my first year in the dean role at Mounds View, I actually began my teaching career in this building as a Health teacher. I have taught in the district for the past thirteen years with the last ten years being spent at Edgewood Middle School. My role as a teacher also provided me the opportunity to coach high school gymnastics for many years. Although I have put coaching aside to focus on my family, advancing my education (completion of Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and K-12 Principal License) and role as dean, it is a sport that I still have a great passion for and continue to stay connected to in a variety of ways.
My family is my greatest support and I am blessed to be the mother of three wonderful children. I have twin boys who have just entered middle school this year and a daughter who is in third grade. They keep my husband and I busy with their activities from football to archery to gymnastics and their seemingly endless energy. We love to spend our downtime together playing games, attending sporting events, visiting family at the lake and fishing. The cold of winter certainly has us dreaming of warmer days sitting around a bonfire or on the water casting out our lines. My husband Brian has also spent his career in education and currently works as an Activities Director at a metro school. Many nights during the school year you will find us at a high school event cheering on sports teams or attending music events and theater productions. As we move into Semester 2 I look forward to getting to know the staff and students of Mounds View High School even better and attending more events and activities!
Meet Andrea Reinecke
My name is Andrea Reinecke and this is my first year teaching English Language Arts at Mounds View, and my second year teaching overall. I student taught and long-term subbed here at Mounds View during the 2015-2016 school year, so it’s great to be back! I previously taught Language Arts at Cottage Grove Middle School, where I also coached the 7th grade volleyball team. I grew up in Eagan before heading to college at UW-Madison. As a communication arts and journalism major, I developed a love for writing through my coursework and my role as a reporter for UW’s student newspaper: The Badger Herald. Post-graduation life took me to Chicago where I lived and worked for a year before moving back to Minnesota to pursue my passion for teaching. I went on to receive my master’s degree in secondary education from the University of St. Thomas in 2015. I currently live in South Maplewood with my husband, Myles, and our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Luna. We purchased a fixer-upper home in 2017, so the past year and a half has been filled with never-ending home improvement projects and lots and lots of dust. On the bright side, I have picked up a few new skills, including installing light fixtures and scraping popcorn ceilings, to name a few! I spend my free time traveling, cooking, reading, playing the piano, exploring new restaurants, and checking out shows/performances/concerts around town. My favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends up north at our cabin in Hayward, Wisconsin. I am so lucky to be a part of the Mounds View community, and I truly believe there is no better place to teach! With such awesome students, coworkers, families, and community members to connect with, teaching at Mounds View is a job unlike any other, and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for me here.

RaiseMe
RaiseMe is a social enterprise focused on expanding access to higher education. Rather than waiting until the end of high school to earn scholarships, which is often too late to impact a student’s college ambitions or choices, RaiseMe enables students to earn scholarships throughout high school, starting as early as 9th grade, for doing all the things that best prepare them to succeed, whether that’s getting good grades, volunteering in the community or joining an extracurricular. Students can sign up for RaiseMe at any point in their high school career. Once a profile is created, students can follow colleges and universities of interest and begin seeing how their academic, social, and athletic achievements and activities may translate into scholarship dollars.
