Join us for 10-weeks of summer day camps in 2020 including both full-day and half-day options for students entering grades K-7. With new instructors, new topics and one centralized camp site, students will be able to try new things, meet new people and grow.

CAMP REGISTRATION NEW! SUMMER FUN THEMED SESSIONS
MORNING AND AFTERNOON CARE
Registration begins March 9 at 9 a.m. at www.moundsviewschools.org/RegisterCommunityEd Our new traditional summer day camp sessions will feature a new theme each week and be offered for the morning and afternoon sessions for students in grades K-3 & 4-7. Each session will include gym time, science experiments, art projects, outdoor adventures and more. Sign up for a whole day of summer fun or pair it with another summer day camp to create a full-day experience! Reduce some summer stress with our extended morning drop-off hour and afternoon pick-up hour included in your summer camp registration! Campers can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. and picked up as late as 5 p.m. giving families a little more flexibility in their day.

YOUTH SUMMER DAY CAMP Create a full day of fun with the Lunch Bunch program. For families looking for full-day options, the Lunch Bunch program is a perfect way to connect morning and afternoon camps. Lunch Bunch provides a supervised lunch hour but does require students to bring their own lunch. Registration is in addition to camp registration, and the cost is $10 per week.

Experience high-quality supervision and a new field trip destination every Friday with our Field Trip Fridays! Field trips range between $55 to $65 per field trip and require students to bring a bag lunch. Drop-off is at Turtle Lake Elementary School from 8 - 9:30 a.m. with pick-up from 4:30 - 5 p.m.

Working in pairs, students will create Star Wars and space-inspired robots. This course builds knowledge of simple machines, engineering, programming and teamwork in an environment full of galactic fun! Do you have what it takes to be a musical theater STAR? Students will sing and dance to popular broadway showtunes. As a team they will create their own story, having a hand in all aspects of creation including the script, costumes and props! This course is open to any athlete, or student interested in strength training and conditioning. The course is an excellent way to prepare for the fall and/or winter sports season. LAURENTIAN ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER LAURENTIAN HUNTING PROGRAMS 2020 Classes are taught by Laurentian Environmental Center’s (LEC) professional teaching staff who hold Minnesota Firearms Safety Certification, Minnesota Bowhunter Education Certification and Advanced Hunter Education Instructor Certification. Mentors who have graduated from all three Forkhorn camps are unique to the LEC program and provide knowledge and assistance to students throughout the week. Evening activities such as rockwall climbing, swimming, fishing and canoeing are offered to students. Registration fees include instruction, lodging, home-cooked meals and use of equipment. Parents can participate at no additional cost. If parents would like to obtain a certification, they must pay a small fee to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. In Forkhorn I, students earn their Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Firearms Safety Certification. Students will experience extensive hands-on firearm handling and shooting opportunities as well as many safety aspects while becoming a responsible hunter. Throughout the week, students will also shoot clay pigeons with shotguns, take an archery class and be exposed to safe hunting practices. Must be 11 years old by start of camp.
Forkhorn II is for students who have earned their Firearms Safety Certification and would like to extend their knowledge and experience with bowhunting. Students can be certified as a bowhunter through the Minnesota Bowhunter Education Program (MBEP). Students will practice shooting each day for a few hours and will be able to understand the physics of their bow through the use of a chronograph. Must be 12-years-old & have Firearms Safety Certification

Payments are due in full at the time of registration. We accept Visa, MasterCard American Express or Discover for online registrations. To pay with cash, please visit the Pike Lake Early Childhood office. Canceled Classes will not be refunded due to weather or staff professional development days. There are no refunds for family vacations or days missed due to family illness or extended leave of absence. Class or Sibling Care refunds will be issued before class starts at 100%. After the first class, 75% will be refunded. No refunds will be given for the semester after the second class. A $10 processing fee is charged per refund.

Children attending our preschool and prekindergarten programs must be screened before or during the school year. The recommended age for screening is 3½ years old. This FREE screening is required for kindergarten entry in all Minnesota public schools. If you live in Mounds View Public School district, please contact our office to schedule an appointment.

EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION (ECSE)
The mission of ECSE is to help children with disabilities achieve their potential by providing classes, services and supports to children ages birth to five. We strive to have inclusive opportunities for all children we serve. Children must first be assessed to determine if they are eligible and need special education services. Contact the Minnesota Department of Education Help Me Grow Program to start the referral process at 1-866-693-GROW.
FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS The Family Resource Centers are FREE educational lending libraries located at the ECEC and SLEC. They are open to all families and staff in the District. PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Do you have ideas and skills to help our program and/ or like to help and volunteer? The Early Childhood Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is looking for members. This group of parents and program staff meet during the school year and provides FREE child care for children up to age five. ADULT EDUCATION REGISTRATION Enrollment is open NOW for Adult Education courses and trainings, call 651-621-6250 for information or to register. Programs on pages 26-27 Mounds View Adult Education offers programs for adults to improve their skills so they can move ahead in their jobs, prepare for further education or improve their daily lives. Learn English, earn your high school diploma or GED and prepare for college or earn certifications for your next job.

ACCOMMODATION NEEDS
REFUNDS, CHANGES, DEADLINES & CANCELLATIONS • Cancellations must be made at least seven days prior to the start of the activity to receive a refund. A $5 processing fee will be assessed to all cancellations. • There will be no cost adjustments for late registration or classes missed by a participant. • Community education reserves the right to cancel a class. When cancellations occur, participants will be notified and a full refund will be issued. • All Community Education activities are subject to changes and cancellations. • Registration deadlines for most activities are one week prior to the start date.

Donations needed The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf relies on donations from the community. Most needed items include: flour, sugar, oil, canned meals, soups, rice, canned meats, peanut butter, grape jelly, 100% juice, cereal, granola bars, crackers, laundry detergent, toilet paper and monetary donations.
