This is, what climbers and alpinists have been dreaming for in a long time. The Madillo is strong and compact, and due to its small pack size it can be stowed easily in the backpack. The shell sides slide into the top and the back folds in, reducing the helmets pack volume by 50%. With one World Cup win after another, plus, dozens of ascents of the hardest boulders and sport climbing routes. EDELRID team member, Kilian Fischhuber (26), is an exceptional talent. Reason enough to check out, who this pleasant Austrian is in reality. Maybe we can clear up the mystery of his success. Where did everything begin? Kilian: : It all started in the climbing gym. Then I went on many travels abroad to diﬀerent climbing areas. I started competing early and learned how to deal with pressure, that still helps me today. Rock climbing and projects, but also travelling were always part of my climbing life. Four times the winner of the World Cup Event and not a hint of fatigue. Where do you get this never ending motivation from? Kilian: Every competition is a new challenge. The competitors change and you have to continue developing. Sometimes training can be exhausting but the success gives you energy. Travelling with the team is a great experience every year and the bouldering scene is very inspiring. But nothing lasts forever and maybe one day all this might not push me enough for training. I do hope to hang on for a few more seasons. It is certainly easier while I´m successful. What does your typical training day look like? Do you train more on rock or plastic? Kilian: For competitions it is best to train indoor. There are not many boulder areas comparable with the training possibilities in the gym. After spending six weeks in the Rockland‘s of South Africa last summer, I was really strong. Unfortunately, you cannot always be in the Rocklands.

When the button is released, the spring in the handle is relaxed and the bolt has less resistance, increasing the braking force. The microscopic (10-9 m) fluoropolymer particles are bonded to the yarns by an electro-chemical process forming an impermeable protective layer.
