LC BOE seeks Harrison elected interest in open mayor in landslide position By John Clise Editor

Richard Blaine Stickle, IV By John Clise Editor WESTON — One man has himself in hot water in two counties after vehicle chase took pursuing officers through parts of Weston. Richard Blaine Stickle, IV, 21, Stonewood, according to reports, is currently being held on $40,000 bond in the central regional jail in Braxton County as a pretrial felon on counts of grand larceny; driving while suspended/revoked; no insurance; leaving the scene of an accident; following too closely; and fleeing with reckless indifference. According to police reports, law enforcement officials in Lewis County picked up the chase in the area of Rt. 19 and Jackson’s Mill Road, which began in Harrison County, after seeing a vehicle stopped along the side of the road. Officers observed a male, later identified as Stickle, and an unidentified female. Officers then, according to reports, received a report of a green ATV near the area where the couple had fled. Officers then picked up the pursuit on North River Avenue heading south into Weston. The ATV disregarded the emergency lights and sirens displayed by law enforcement and continued southbound, according to reports. The ATV was observed swerving in the roadway traveling at speeds of up to 40 mph before turning onto to 4th street. According to reports, the ATV ignored the stop sign as it passed through intersections on 4th Street. Before breaking the pursuit off near Lewis County High School, after losing contact with the ATV, officers attempted to keep up the chase as they followed the ATV through the back parking lot of Robert L. Bland Middle School, CVS parking lot, Court Avenue, Main Avenue, Rt. 19 South, Minuteman Drive and Middle Run Road. Stickle was located later and taken into custody. He was arrested on similar charges plus several others in Harrison County in February of this year.
