Weston officials meet

Matt DeGarmo WESTON — Long-time Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital (SJMH) Director Jane Eisenbeis retired on Friday July 12, after more then 42 years of work at the local healthcare facility. Eisenbeis directed both SJMH’s Home Health Department and Stonewall Home Oxygen Therapy (SHOT). With her departure Hospital administration will have SJMH’s Physical Therapy Department Director Matthew DeGarmo serve as interim director for the Home Care Department, and Jeanette Lancaster will guide SHOT. Matt began in the PT Department in 1995 and became director in 1997. He was the only therapist at that time and now supervises seven therapists. Matt looks forward to helping the Home Care staff during this transition, “I look ahead to helping the Hospital and staff in making sure that Home Health is a viable growing department for the patients and the community.” The other position vacated by Eisenbeis is that of SHOT Director, which will be taken by Jeanette Lancaster, of the Mon Health System. She is a Morgantown native and has one daughter, Hannah, who attends Fairmont University. She is also a graduate of Fairmont State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. She has worked in the Health System, within the DME companies, for 23 years. Jeanette started as a customer service representative and then was asked to run Fairmont Home Medical when it was opened in December 1998. She worked her way through the companies, until she became the Office Manager for Fairmont Home Medical, a Director of Operations for Mon HealthCare (MHC) and Fairmont Home Medical (FHM), then served as the Director of Sales and Marketing until December 2015, when she stepped into the role as Executive Director of Mon HealthCare and Fairmont Home Medical. Jeanette noted, “I am excited to take on the additional responsibility of Stonewall Home Oxygen Therapy. I am hoping to bring my years of experience in durable medical equipment customer service, sales, and management; to SHOT in order to develop a standardized, best practice approach for all three companies as well as the hospitals and communities we serve. “ Both offices are located at Market Place Mall, at the intersection of Route 33 and Interstate 79.

Taylor develops SJMH Providing Measles Immunity Broadcastify network Testing

Because of the recent of outbreak of measles throughout the United States, including a Ohio’s first case at the beginning of July, individuals are questioning their own immunity to the disease. The staff at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital (SJMH) in Weston has been fielding requests on the subject and will be able to provide some assistance to patients through the SJMH laboratory with direct access testing. The Hospital notes that several of its physician clinics have the measles vaccine if needed. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that

This is an increase of 14 cases from the previous week and is the greatest number of cases reported in the U.S. since 1992 and since measles was declared eliminated in 2000. Yard sale event set for August 2 & 3

West Virginia’s Largest Yard Sale is set for August 2 and 3 with some exciting updates to this year’s event. Organizers of the Upshur/ Lewis County event are happy to announce updates to this year’s event. Yard Sales may register free of charge and be submitted using a new online form.
