Shoreline at Mountain View: Celebrating 30 Years of the Rengstorff House Restoration!

Shoreline at Mountain View is a picturesque, 750-acre wildlife and recreation area that offers wide, open space for enjoyment, meandering trails, a bit of history, food/beverage outlets, and more. In 2021, the historic Rengstorff House is celebrating thirty years since being restored and opening to the public. Rengstorff House After being moved two times and saved from demolition, the historic Rengstorff House now stands proud as one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture on the West Coast. It was fully restored in 1991, and now has an accompanying replica water tower and restored windmill. We are pleased to announce the full re-opening of the house to the public in September 2021 with a series of 30th Anniversary educational tours and activities. The general public is invited to join in on special activities being developed throughout the month of September, and to learn about holiday décor in the month of December. For additional information on the history of the home, including a 3D tour, exhibit and historical interviews, visit https://friendsofrhouse.org. If you are planning a wedding or special event, the rental program is back and better than ever! Holiday parties can accommodate up to 48 guests indoors in the winter months, while our exterior grounds accommodate up to 150 guests April – October each year. For more information about the venue, or to inquire about rental availability, please call 650-903-6088 or visit MountainView.gov/RengstorffHouse.
