T

wo sensational days of live music throughout downtown transform the always buzzing with energy Castro Street into the Bay Area’s entertainment hot-spot during the city’s fantastically fun, monster shindig — Art & Wine Festival, September 7-8. The lineup features thirteen of the Bay Area’s best bands playing a non-stop, wide-ranging musical mix all over the downtown area.

The fabulous lineup includes the big Saturday evening Into The Groove Dance Party (4:45 to 7 p.m.) featuring powerhouse party band What The Funk! plus a stellar bill with The Jesse Charles Band, Santana Tribute band Sacred Fire, Drive, Fog City Swampers, The Element, Blue House, Emerson & The Growiser Band, Bob Culbertson, John Clarke, Stephen Dreyfuss, EllaHarp, and Ancient Winds.

RECOLOGY CONCERT STAGE SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 Blue House combines the talents of two longtime friends, acoustic guitarist Marlies de Veer and bass guitarist Amy Beasley who enjoy mixing a rocker’s attitude with an acoustic sound, highlighted by their close-knit harmonies. They are joined by their good friend, Shelley Hoefer on percussion/drums. The Fog City Swampers are a four piece cover band featuring female lead vocals and three part harmonies. The band has been rocking the Bay Area since 2003, and performs an eclectic song list of 60’s to 80’s hits by bands like CCR, Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder, Journey, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Talking Heads, Wilson Pickett, Queen, and so many more. Drive! is back after a five year hiatus. In 2019, Drive! founding member Ray Buyco (guitar, vocals) has gathered an all new team of seasoned veterans to produce a powerful groove-based quartet with a full vocal harmony

sound. The improvisational approach of the band complete with searing guitar solos, dramatic musical dynamics, and in the moment impromptu song transitions, remain trademarks of the Drive! live performance. What The Funk! is an 11-piece powerhouse band formed in 2012. They’re guaranteed to bring down the house with their perfect mix of today’s hits, classic R&B, Soul, Pop and Funk. The Bay’s best party band, they cover a wide variety of artists such as Rick James, Bruno Mars, The Weekend, Ariana Grande, DNCE, Prince, Various Motown artist, Beyoncé and Aretha Franklin just to name a few.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 The Element combines learned musicianship with a youthful attitude. Providing a fun, passionate, energetic, danceable and highly musical show for its audience is job one for this band of seasoned professionals. The Element plays a wide variety of hits from the
