MAAPP

ACADEMIC PREPARATION PROGRAM

WHY CHOOSE MAAPP? The MAAPP program provides incoming students with an extended orientation, and the opportunity to earn a college credit, as they transition to college. MAAPP students take part in a five-day orientation program a week prior to the start of fall semester courses. Students are able to move into their residence hall early, get acquainted to college life, and participate in a series of group cohesion building social events. Weekly one hour guided study sessions are provided throughout the students’ first year to offer academic support to MAAPP program participants. The no cost Mount Aloysius Academic Preparation Program (MAAPP) helps students transition to Mount Aloysius College. Students will earn a college credit for coursework completed throughout the program.

EARLY ENTRANCE

WHAT WE DO

The group of 40-50 students that go through Early Entrance Week with you will become connections that will last a lifetime. MAAPP Students have two classes together (one in the fall and spring semesters of the first year) and stay connected through study groups, academic workshops, and group social activities.

The MAAPP program student and staff mentors offer advice and conversation on matters not limited to such as adjusting to college life, ensuring academic success, and navigating residential living. Weekly one hourly guided study sessions are provided throughout the students’ first year to offer program support to MAAPP program participants. The MAAPP program is offered at no cost and provides all participating students with connections that will last a lifetime through various group cohesion social events.
