VALE Kevin Ingram OAM

Mounties Group President 1932 - 2021 It is with the deepest of sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved president Kevin Ingram OAM who passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday 15 December. Kevin epitomised the Mounties Group spirit of living to improve the lives of our members and community, having served tirelessly on our board of directors for over 40 years and president for the past 18 years. Under Kevin’s leadership, Mounties has grown from a humble Club of 12,000 members to become Australia’s largest profit for purpose registered Club Group - a Group that now donates $10 million annually, provides employment for over 2,000 people, and creates a community hub across multiple venues for its 175,000+ members and guests. A life member of Mounties, Parramatta Junior Rugby League, Parramatta District Rugby League, Kevin’s lifetime of service to our local community was aptly recognized with an Order of Australia Medal, befitting his commitment to the club and community. Our thoughts are with Kevin’s entire family and friends and in particular, his wife Di, who will be grieving the passing of such an amazing man. We will be forever grateful for his dedication, his leadership, and spirit. We love you Kev.

R O N A L D M C D O N A L D F A M I LY R O O M Mounties Group are committed to finding ways to make a difference in our local community.

In May 2013, the Ronald McDonald Family Room was opened at Gosford Children’s Hospital.

We are constantly looking at areas to make a difference, provide support, create awareness, and make some magic.

Ronald McDonald House Charities is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on community support for funding. McDonalds generously came on board to help make this Room a reality, but we as a community now need to continue to fund its operation.

The amalgamation with Halekulani Bowling Club and Club Wyong provided an opportunity to extend this support to the Central Coast community. This includes supporting the Ronald McDonald Family Room with all proceeds from the 2021 Christmas Ham and Toy Raffles donated directly to the cause. The raffles, which were held at both Halekulani and Club Wyong, had over $20,000 worth of prizes and were a great opportunity to raise much needed funds for the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Gosford. It is opportunities like this that allow the Group to support our local community. We will continue to look at ways to show our ongoing support to the Ronald McDonald Family Room and it’s invaluable role within the communiy. 6

YOUR GUIDE - CENTRAL COAST

Having a child or baby in hospital due to sickness or injury is a parent’s worst nightmare. It is emotionally draining and can be financially difficult. The Family Room program gives families a comfortable haven where they can take a break and relax. It offers a welcoming environment for all the family, whether it’s somewhere for the kids to play or a sanctuary for mums and dads to take a much-needed nap. The Family Room is a home away from home within the hospital and includes communal facilities such as kitchen, laundry, shower, bathroom, and lounge

area with everything you need to make the logistics of family life that little bit easier, at no cost. It is the staff and volunteers that make Ronald McDonald Family Room a warm inviting haven for families. With close to 100 volunteers who generously donate their time, families always have someone to assist and support them.

HOW CAN THE COMMUNITY HELP? Obviously financial donations are always great but sometimes the little things that we take for granted are the things that make an immediate difference. Magazines (parents are sometimes sitting around for hours and picking up a magazine is always some help), food that is easy and quick to cook including 2 minute noodles, vegemite, tinned food etc (parents can be there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and these items save them time and money), cleaning products and basic toiletries like shampoo, soap, shaving cream etc. Then of course there is the most important thing – volunteers. They just simply are the ‘angels’ of the Family Room and make a huge difference in every way. If you are interested in volunteering at the Ronald McDonald Family Room Gosford, please email gosinfo@rmhnnsw.org.au or call 4320 5617 for more details or an application form. Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For indeed, that’s all who ever have.

The Mounties Group Seniors Week show reconnects three of your favourite performers from the television variety show era. This is a 90min trip down memory lane, reconnecting and remembering some of the monumental moments in the Australian music landscape. With 4-piece live ‘Mounties Band’, Little Pattie, Lucky and Roland will have you singing along, laughing, and even shedding a few tears.
