So the team at Ignite have come up with a couple of solutions: 1. Acceler8 PT – this is our favourite personal training package. 8 x 45minute sessions with one of our dedicated team. Did we tell you why personal training is so good for you? Cause you get results fast (which in winter may have something to do with just getting out of bed to meet your trainer!), but no kidding, people who have regular personal training seesions are more focused during their workouts and can achieve a higher intensity than when exercising alone. If you haven’t had a personal training session before and would like to try it before you commit to the pack, ask one of our trainers to provide a15 minute free session – what have you got to lose, other than your fear and perhaps a kilo or two! 2. Bring a Friend for FREE – This month we are inviting your friends to Ignite Health & Fitness for 3 FREE sessions. Simply contact our membership consultants and we will organise a visit pass for your friend. Even better, if you bring a friend (limit of 3 friends in the month), your name goes into the barrel to WIN a sports back valued at over $50 3. Superhero Day – Saturday July 30th
Join us in our Super Group Fitness Classes and you will help lighten the load for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families by ensuring Bear Cottage is always there when they need them the most. We are asking you to become a Superhero for a day by helping us support Superhero Week and raise funds for Bear Cottage. By getting involved you will enable us to continue providing support, respite and end-of-life care to these beautiful children.

We also couldn’t resist giving you the recipe for the delicious energy balls Elda made – high protein, nutritious and a great afternoon snack! Energy balls can be a convenient snack, but are also known for being energy dense due to ingredients such as protein powders, dried fruit and nuts. Keep the size small when rolling. Remember these are meant as a snack, so practice portion control- one will do! Once refrigerated these can keep for a couple of weeks.

THE ADVANTAGES OF CONTINUING LESSONS THROUGHOUT WINTER. As we progress through the cooler months, we all find it easy to put off anything to do with water and water safety until the weather gets warmer. We all lead such busy lives that anything we can put off until “tomorrow” goes to the bottom of the to-do list.

But the only way to protect your family from drowning is to keep your children swimming through winter. While your toddlers and young school-age children might be more enthused about swimming when the weather is hot, continuing them throughout the cooler months will provide them with the very skills that might one day save their lives.
It’s easy to forget that no matter how loudly your baby or toddler cries when they’re hungry or tired if they are drowning, they make no sound at all. To help you protect the children in your life from drowning please ensure that you give them the head start they deserve and continue their lessons throughout the winter period; it is the only way to ensure your child’s progress and improvement.

Coming into winter, you might think the risk of drowning drops for young children. Sadly it doesn’t. For our precious bundles of joy the wonder of water is a year-round attraction regardless of the outside elements the fascination with water and the belief that they are invincible does not change. What does change in winter is where children drown. In winter, we see more babies and toddlers drowning in bathtubs. Ironically, many of these children drown because parents are trying so hard to keep their children warm and safe. Often we hear of mums and dads who raced to get an extra warm towel from the cupboard to protect them from the cold, literally leaving their child for a minute with tragic consequences.
