Encouraging our future generation to engage with ANZAC tradition.

In 2019, Mounties Group participated in the RSL & Services Clubs Associations’, ‘Respect the Day’ campaign, designed to promote respect and appreciation of ANZAC Day and to encourage Australians to reflect on the significance of the day.

We continue to strive to encourage our future generations to engage with ANZAC tradition. This year, we continued our tradition and ran our annual ANZAC Day creative writing competition.

The competition allowed all students currently enrolled in years K – 12 attending schools within the Fairfield and Liverpool vicinity to submit creative writing presentations explaining and demonstrating the importance of ANZAC Day in the community and why ANZAC Day occupies a sacred place in Australians’ hearts.

Four finalists were selected to present their entry at Mounties ANZAC Day ceremony on Tuesday 25th April. Presentations took place on the day and a panel of judges selected one winner from a primary school and one winner from a secondary school. The four finalists received a book related to the ANZAC history and tradition. The two winners received a $100 gift card and the highly commended received a $50 gift card.

Mounties Group is particularly passionate about the need to educate our youth and members of the ANZAC Day tradition to ensure the day is recognised and celebrated with due diligence. The competition is a great way of getting the community involved to learn from each other’s experiences and stories.
