RENOVATION UPDATE Mounties Makeover continues as we are now one step closer to unveiling Stage one of the master plan for club improvements; The Grand Humphries Road Foyer. Member Services desk and sign-in facilities are temporarily established at the existing gym entry on Humphries Road. The Club Rewards store is now open at the Meadows Road foyer where you can use your loyalty points to treat yourself to something special whether that be a bottle of wine or a beautiful handbag. Exciting times are still ahead as we look forward to Stage two of the master plan which entails the development of a three level underground carpark, and an exclusive food and beverage precinct. Of course, the best way to understand what’s happening at Mounties is to experience it first-hand by visiting the club. Be sure not to worry, our club renovations have not affected the club operations by any means, as patrons continue to create memorable experiences. MOUNTIES HELPS DISADVANTAGED KIDS STRUGGLING TO LEARN. As community organisations, clubs have the ability to generate positive social experiences, and promote social inclusion, for people living with some form of intellectual or physical disability. It is for this reason that Mounties has contributed over $100,000 to Learning Links over the past few years. The generous grant provided by Mounties allows Learning Links to offer support to dozens of local children who are struggling at school and whose families cannot afford help to overcome their difficulties. The children are being supported financially to access the help they need based on their individual abilities and difficulties. Some of these children have reading disorders like dyslexia, or difficulty with maths (dyscalculia).

They receive specialist literacy and numeracy support from Learning Links. Some receive speech therapy or occupational therapy which addresses deficits and difficulties that affect their learning, development and/or social skills. Others are being offered assessments at school to help identify the areas they have difficulty with so that teachers (and parents) can support and teach them effectively. This project is focussed on breaking the cycle of disadvantage for children who not only struggle with learning, but are furthermore strongly disadvantaged due to their familyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s financial circumstances. Mounties is helping these children to reach their full potential.

E V E R Y T H U R S DAY I N J U N E A N D J U LY Mounties longest serving junior Rugby League player Bradley Speechley has the honour of being the first Mounties junior to pull on the Canberra Raiders jersey and play in a Holden Cup competition match which epitomizes the true pathway to the NRL that is available to Mounties juniors who are in our Rugby League system. Bradley has been playing for Mounties since he was four years of age and has captained our C Grade team to the last two Grand Finals of their competition. In the 2014 season Bradley steered Mounties C Grade into the Grand Final before stepping up into the Sydney Shield team where he

guided them through the finals series and into the Grand Final at Allianz Stadium.

It has been said by media worldwide that the Max Pellicano tribute Elvis to the Max goes beyond mere impersonation. Critics have described his performances as "Elvis resurrected" and “reincarnated”. His recreation of "The King" looks, moves, vocal style, impressions and humour is so accurate, it’s awe-inspiring. You need to sound like the real thing and Max Pellicano has worked hard at that. Not only is the voice important, it's also knowing how to become the man himself on stage. There are lots of Elvis impersonators around, but Max Pellicano is considered as the best. In addition, the costumes worn by Max Pellicano are exact replicas made by Elvis' personal tailor Bill Bellow. Elvis to the Max will re-create a special night with The King in Concert.

Little Stars toddler program is for eager two-yearold kids who are ready to discover the wonderful world of skiing. This full day program includes a one-hour ski private lesson, equipment hire, all day supervision, lunch and refreshments plus indoor and outdoor activities.

Discovery Kids is a full day program (including lunch) tailored to the youngest skiers and boarders (three to four years and five year olds also welcome) and operates from the Snow Discovery Centre on the lower level of the Perisher Centre. SPOTLIGHT ON CLUB ITALIA The Club has existed since 1968 on the shoulders of volunteers, with members in more recent times coming from both the Veneto Club and the Aburzzi Sports Club when the two amalgamated in 2007. Club ltalia hosts many Italian local and regional festivals with the purpose of keeping Italian traditions alive for the younger generations. The Club also hosts school groups who learn pasta making, bocce, the Italian card game “tombole” and conversational Italian. Whilst the Club is in need of renovation, it still boasts a picturesque outdoor picnic area equipped with bench style tables, vine covered pergolas and a children’s slide. There is a large undercover BBQ area and playing fields along side, making Club Italia the perfect location for team presentation days, large family gatherings and casual outdoor weddings. A highlight of Club Italia’s entertainment program is the weekly Saturday Dance Night where adults dress up and enjoy traditional waltz and ballroom style dancing with their partners. There is a fortnightly card competition and social bocce is run every Thursday. Members and guests can enjoy traditional and authentic Italian cuisine at In Campagna

Already home to Sydney’s best professional Vietnamese performers, Mekong is now set to kick start the dreams of stardom for talented amateur singers in the 2015 Mekong Golden Voice competition.

Mekong Golden Voice celebrates Vietnamese culture, language and history by showcasing exceptional singing talent from the local community.

We look forward in making your Christmas memorable.

With $10,000 in cash and prizes to be won, Mekong Golden Voice is one of the largest Vietnamese singing competitions in the country. Contestants must be aged 16 years and above, and prepared to perform in front of a live audience. Songs can be performed in English or in Vietnamese, and own compositions are welcome.

The competition has four stages: live auditions, heat rounds, semi-finals and the grand finale in Mounties Showroom when the winner is announced. All rounds will have a professional live judging panel giving constructive feedback to contestants. Performers that make it through auditions are then encouraged to bring their friends and family to all heats as votes are calculated on 50% audience vote and 50% judge’s vote.
