Please have the waiver forms completed, signed, and printed before the first day of your child's camp. The forms can by found on our website in the parent tab.
Camps go swimming once a day. Music Makers and Outdoor Adventures do not swim on Fridays.
PRE AND POST CARE
GROUPING REQUESTS
All of our MRUKids camps are divided into two groups by age. If you would like to ensure that two campers are paired together in their camp please visit our website and complete the “Grouping Request Form” in the parent information tab.
LUNCH PROGRAM
We are pleased to offer complimentary pre and post care. Pre care begins at 7:30a.m. and post care ends at 5:30p.m. Registration is not required.

Campers will receive one complimentary t-shirt. Please note that we cannot guarantee preferred t-shirt sizes.

CATS
MAGICAL ADVENTURES
Exercise your computer skills and enter the world of typing, painting and gaming. Let your imagination run wild as you create colourful collages, mixed-media sculptures, paper mâché creations and much more in the art studio. Develop original skits, short plays and puppet shows. Create chemical reactions and make multi-coloured slime, build edible volcanoes and demonstrate conservation by making recycled paper in science.
Design personalized crests, wands and philosophers stones. Concoct bubbling, slimy, chunky brews and potions in the professor’s laboratory. Make up your own magical quest in the enchanted forest using mysterious shadow puppets. Make horrifyingly amazing crafts like fantastic frames, crazy clay creatures and collages. Learn computer skills like a pro with our computer wizard, opening the door to a world of typing, painting and gaming.

Under the guidance of Mount Royal Conservatory instructors, children have the opportunity to explore the performing arts in a one-week intensive program of dance, choral singing, Orff instrument ensemble, speech arts and visual arts. All activities take place in the Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts. The highlight of the week is the “Celebration of Learning” performance as the children proudly share their talents with family and friends. No previous experience is required, just a love for the performing arts.
Pop, lock and groove to family friendly classic beats. Designed to provide campers with the opportunity to enjoy various forms of hip hop dance, Hip Hop camp teaches the choreography and styles you need to showcase your moves.

JUNIOR LEADERS
Create your very own mini motion picture. Plan, shoot and edit footage while learning the elements of filmmaking. This year we have added the element of stop-motion claymation. Experiment with this element to create your very own Oscar-worthy short film.
Ages 9 – 13 MRUKids presents Junior Leaders, a one-week program designed to encourage leadership skills and self-awareness in youth. Learn about conflict resolution and active strategies to diffuse difficult situations. Research the effects the media plays on young people’s self-esteem. Draw a self-portrait emphasizing your favourite aspects of yourself. Then compete in Survivor challenges to build on your team-work skills.

CONOCOPHILLIPS SCIENCE ACADEMY
Ages 9 – 12 MRUKids presents Canadian Natural Resources Junior Innovators, a one-week camp designed to encourage youth to develop creative ways to solve communitybased problems using technology and innovation. You will learn how to break codes that conceal secret messages, and how to decipher image puzzles. In teams you will plan, design and construct a Rube Goldberg chain reaction invention. You will solve the murder case of Jimmy Giant Head, by collecting physical evidence and interviewing suspects. After the camp concludes you will be an expert problem solver and inventor! MRUKids presents MRU Leaders in Training! This two-week program will train and prepare the next generation of leaders to reach their full potential. This fun and fast-paced camp allows you to complete Standad First Aid and Level C CPR and to enter the workplace with the necessary skills and training to be successful. You will learn how to develop and implement a lesson plan, create a resume and cover letter and become a leader in the workplace. All camp content is designed to emphasize the value of teambuilding. You will have a blast learning new skills while rock-climbing and swimming.
MRUKids presents Young Entrepreneurs. Do you have a passion for innovation? Do you have what it takes to create a product or service? Our instructors will guide you through the steps of creating a brand, business plan and implementing a marketing strategy. Put your entrepreneurial skills to the test by presenting your idea to a panel of business experts. Dates Session 1: July 17 – 28 GST applies to this camp

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
Ages 5 – 8 Refine your batting, catching and throwing techniques on the T-ball/softball diamond. Boulder and belay your way to the top of Mount Royal University’s rock climbing wall. Get out on the soccer field and practice ball handling, shooting and passing. Learn to serve, rally and develop your forehand/backhand winners on the tennis court.
Ages 9 – 14 Put your safety and survival skills to the test while hiking in Kananaskis and Fish Creek Park. Experience the waters of Glenmore reservoir by canoe, kayak or dragon boat and get some valuable paddling tips from certified instructors at the Calgary Canoe Club. Tackle hills, bumps, dirt and puddles on your mountain bike day trips.

BIKE + PLAY
Ages 5 – 8 Practice your biking skills with MRUKids’ Bike and Play camp. Whether you can ride with two wheels or with training wheels, this camp will help build confidence with biking. After you ride, have a blast playing kick ball, soccer, swimming and more. Trainers: For campers who are comfortable riding with training wheels but need more help with pedaling, stopping, and steering. Riders: For those already riding their two wheel bike. Campers will practice steering, gear changing, shoulder checking, helmet and road safety on a variety of surfaces. *Please ensure campers bring a proper-fitting bike (with secured training wheels if needed) and an appropriate helmet.
