Site Ananlysis: Site has a rectangular shape bounded by a small street on the West side, a slow road leading onto the high way on the South side and construction sites on the North and East side. Surrounding buildings include the Future’s University in Egypt, which can be a source of noise and poses privacy issues, and a residential area still under construction. Also close by are a gas station, restaurants and the American University in Cairo. The background view is not a particularly good one. The site overlooks the highway on the South side and the FUE on the West side. A good foreground view must be created to compensate. The site is obvious from the highway and is therefore easily accessible. Also, the smaller, adjacent street can provide private access to employees. This small road connects the high way to a second one so that the site is also accessible from, although will not be visible to, the North side. Soil type: Sand Underground water table: low The site is inclined at an angle, sloping from South to North. There are two main sources of noise; the highway from the South and the FUE from the West. Also, there is temporary noise neighboring construction sites in the North and East. After completion, the residential compound will not generate as much noise but can create privacy issues depending on how close the houses will be. Most of the buildings on the highway are modern buildings although some attempt to combine tradition and modern styles. Generally, there is no unified culture or style for the buildings. Buildings should not exceed five storeys
