8 It’s superhero season. With Spider-Man due to swing onto the big screen in The Amazing Spider-Man, the first episode in the gritty new franchise, and Batman’s return in The Dark Knight Rises, the final chapter of Christopher Nolan’s critically acclaimed trilogy, we can look forward to action with an emotive and cerebral twist this summer. What’s more, the wait is almost over for Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s first science-fiction film in 30 years, which promises to be epic in its scope, not to mention its box office pulling power.

Lots of comedies are lined up for your viewing pleasure, from rom-coms What To Expect When You’re Expecting and The Five Year Engagement to the satire of The Dictator and the dark surrealism of A Fantastic Fear of Everything. Starring Tom Cruise as a long haired, leather-clad ‘80s rocker, Rock of Ages is creating a buzz both sides of the Atlantic. The latest stage show to receive the Hollywood treatment, the anthemic rock tunes and intriguing casting might just spell cinematic gold. See you at the flicks! Rebecca

8 Following on from the success of last autumn’s tour, innovative comedian Dave Gorman has announced new dates for his show: Powerpoint Presentation. As always, the genre-stretching joker isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of stand-up and this time around he’s formed a double act…with a projector screen. The inventive comic has built a reputation for finding comedy in seemingly mundane topics and this collection of slides is no different. It’s a testament to Gorman’s ability that he can promise a bullet point driven show and yet still manage to have his audience in stitches. Time to cast those Powerpoint prejudices aside!

The Big Picture

A new Cornish feature film sets its sights on the big screen

FdA Media Advertising student Lawrey Anstis looks at the South West’s latest cinematic instalment.

If you thought that the region had little to offer in the way of film other than Straw Dogs, or that that culture in Cornwall could be summed up in a few episodes of Doc Martin then a new feature film, Weekend Retreat, sets out to challenge those assumptions.

So maybe it comes as little surprise to discover the film’s writer/director, Brett Harvey, is from around these parts. Born and raised in Cornwall, and a former student of Truro College, on the face of it his background is not unlike mine or that of many young people from around the county.

Set around a scenic house in the Cornish countryside where a young couple seeks refuge from their hectic city lifestyle. Meanwhile, a pair of absurdly inept burglars have their eye on the same property.

The difference is many years of experience, access to some of the best talent on offer and a real determination to make films in Cornwall that will win an audience both inside and beyond the county’s borders.

“I was on a walk along the coast in the winter. I saw a row of second homes and it looked like someone was actually using one out of season. I remember thinking, ‘Anything could happen in that house and no one would know.’ ”, the film’s director recalls to me.

As he mentions to me, “To be honest, it always felt like the whole thing could just fold at any second. It wasn’t until we were doing the first shot, on the first day, that I actually thought ‘Wow, we’re really going to make this!’”

The result is a refreshingly, riveting picture: a concoction of comedy that has enough action to sit comfortably next to your collection of Edgar Wright films, but remains true to its regional setting.

Weekend Retreat makes its London debut at the London Independent Film Festival (LIFF) and has been selected as the Festival’s closing film on Sunday 22nd of April.

8 Nine years after leaving our screens in American Wedding, the original cast of the American Pie series returns for one final outing in the reunion we have all been waiting for. More than a decade after graduating from high school, Jim (Biggs), Oz (Klein), Kevin (Nicholas), Finch (Thomas) and Stifler (Scott) have gone their separate ways. However, when the gang return to East Great Falls for their school reunion for one long and overdue weekend, they soon discover how each other’s lives have changed since the summer of 1999 when the quest to lose their virginity begun. In the years that have passed, we learn that Jim and Michelle (Hannigan) are now parents, while Oz and Heather (Suvari) and Kevin and Vicky (Reid) grew apart. As for Finch, he still longs for Stifler’s mum, and Stifler himself now works as a temp at an investment firm. What is set to be one of the summer’s most anticipated - and humorous - slices of nostalgia, American Reunion promises to give the series one well deserved final send-off - in traditional apple pie style. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (3D) 8 Prepare to revisit the enchanting world of Beauty and the Beast. The first animated film ever to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture, this Disney classic has everything you would expect of a feel-good adventure: loveable characters, mesmerising action, sing-along songs and captivating animation. Originally released in 1991, the classic now returns to charm audiences with an eye-popping 3D dimension. Beauty and the Beast tells the story of an arrogant prince imprisoned inside the body of a Beast, and Belle, a girl who dreams of a life outside the restraints of her village where she is pursued by hunter Gaston. When her father, inventor Maurice, gets lost in the woods, he takes shelter in the Beast’s castle where he is imprisoned for trespassing. When Belle offers to take her father’s place, the Beast makes her promise to stay in the castle forever. Although perceiving him as a monster at first, as time passes, Belle’s feelings towards the Beast change and she learns an all-important lesson: that true beauty comes from within. Prepare for a new vision of a tale as old as time. Amy Ralfe

t seems fitting that the final act in the world’s most successfully updated franchise should be released within the same breath as the next great ‘reboot’ hope. This month, superhero veteran Bruce Wayne, chiselled but world weary, will bow out from the cinematic landscape, making way for the fresh face of a new Peter Parker. Except, the passing of baton from wing to web is not without potential problems... While similar in terms of avid fan base and box office potential, these two pictures remain uncomfortable bedfellows with wildly different origins. Batman Begins was among the first wave of reboots, quietly sneaking up on an unsuspecting audience who, at the time, expected little more than a continuation of the franchise with just a gloss of black paint. Hindsight had not been kind to the caped crusader. Adam West sported impressive shark repellent, but the ‘60s’ show reads as little more than farce to young audiences. Even the legacy of two Tim Burton classics was somewhat tarnished by day-glo sequels and overly nippled bat suits. A surprise choice to reboot the franchise, Christopher Nolan was known for work on indie thrillers (Memento, Insomnia) that, although intelligent and well crafted, didn’t have the scale or budget of a Batman picture. Even upon release, Batman Begins didn’t set the world on fire, netting just over $370 million. But importantly, it was given a chance to grow and gestate in people’s consciousness. By the time The Dark Knight was released, it was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Although Heath Ledger tragically passed away before release, it was widely agreed that his turn as The Joker provided cinema with one of its greatest ever villains. By contrast, The Amazing Spider-Man must endure the full gaze of a waiting world - a world that still fondly remembers Raimi’s take on the Spideyverse. A trilogy that covered the ‘origin’ element of Peter Parker’s journey and (as scrambled as Spidey 3 might have

been) there were no calls for a retelling. One might have argued (as your author once did) that this would be a shameless studio cash in. Until we saw the trailers... Released late last year, the first was a CGI fest. Computer game inspired, the ‘parkour on acid’ first person run over New York rooftops gave only fleeting glimpses of our hero’s shadow. Hostility turned to dubious intrigue. The second, a more conventional 90 seconds, gives us insight into the world this new Spider-Man will inhabit, taking us right back to his first bite from a certain arachnid. Intrigue turned to excitement. Gone are the big names, with Andrew Garfield (best known as Eduardo Saverin in The Social Media) a comparatively low-key choice next to Tobey Maguire, and with high profile redhead, Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) replaced by Emma Stone (Zombieland) as Gwen Stacey. Enemy of choice, The Lizard, should suit comic book fans, while Welsh actor Rhys Ifans, best known in the mainstream for comedic relief (Notting Hill, The Boat That Rocked), has also proven himself a complex and disturbing antagonist (Enduring Love and Love, Honour and Obey).

Of course, while The Amazing Spider-Man has slowly won support, The Dark Knight Rises had us drooling from the outset. Taking responsibility for Harvey Dent’s crimes in The Dark Knight, Batman has been hunted by Gotham City Police, disappearing for eight years. As new enemy Bane (Tom Hardy) - physically far stronger than even bench-pressing Bruce Wayne - arises with plans to destroy the city, he is forced to return. Awaiting him is not only the human wrecking machine, but also his associate, the enigmatic Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). As the poster suggests, ‘The Legend Ends Here’ and, with Nolan, there’s no saying for sure that Batman will survive to see the closing credits. Reboots themselves are a tricky matter. It’s not always easy to predict which way they will go. For every dark, gritty success (Batman Begins, Casino Royale, Star Trek), there’s a cheesy, pointless blunder (Halloween, Punisher, X: Men Origins: Wolverine). Ambitiously setting itself apart from Raimi’s creation, confidently casting unknowns to lead and Rhys Ifans as a car-hurling Lizard - it is looking ever likely that The Amazing Spider-Man will turn

FEATURE

any final doubters. And you can bet the bank that Dark Knight Rises will see out its own trilogy in suitably epic fashion - Nolan wouldn’t have it any other way. Even more, the last remaining Spidey sceptics might soon have a new reboot target. Those of us who once thought a subdecade reboot was sacrilegious (hardly enough time for dust to settle on the DVD cases!) might have to be more accepting. DC Comics (enviously eyeing Marvel’s Avengers franchise) wish to take advantage of their Justice League property and the dark, realisticnoir world of Bale/Nolan’s doesn’t sit well next to a flying man in blue tights. To create their new team of superheroes, they must reboot the reboot - and probably within the next two years. The baton may be passed back faster than expected... The Dark Knight Rises is released on 20th July. The Amazing Spider-Man is released on 4th July

8 Cinema’s finest dark and macabre director-actor duo, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, return – and this time, they’re bringing the hit US TV series Dark Shadows back to life. Originally created by Dan Curtis and aired weekdays on the ABC network between 1966 and 1971, the Burton-Depp team are the perfect candidates to reinvent the cult series for the big screen. Depp plays the series’ 200-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins - a weird and wonderful character whom Depp has admitted to being obsessed with since he was a child. After breaking the heart of powerful witch Angelique Bouchard (Green), Barnabas seals himself to a fate worse than death: the viciously cruel but equally beautiful witch turns him into a vampire and buries him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas emerges into the very changed world of 1972, whereupon he discovers that his beloved home, Collinwood Manor, has fallen into decline. Worst still, his dysfunctional descendants have fared little better, each harbouring their own dark secrets. Adapted into a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, novelist of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, this is a film that’s easy to get excited about. Justin Vingoe

8 Prepare for another slice of cutting-edge comedy from Sacha Baron Cohen. Never one to shy away from controversy, Cohen is back on top form in The Dictator - a film that’s sure to provoke a response of either laughter or disgust in its audience. Director Larry Charles, who worked alongside Cohen in Borat and Bruno, is at the helm, while Alec Berg (Euro Trip and Seinfield) shares screenwriting credits with Cohen. Cohen stars as bearded dictator General Aladeen who presides over the nation of Wadiya. In his mission to ensure the country he has oppressed generously for so long doesn’t fall under democracy, Aladeen travels to America - where he gets a rude awakening. Controversy usually precedes a Cohen film and The Dictator is no exception - dressed in full Aladeen regalia, the actor emptied an urn labelled as containing the ashes of Kim Jong-il over television presenter Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards. With Ben Kingsley and John C. Reilly amongst the co-stars, prepare for a more scripted film than Borat and Bruno with the same satirical, cringy and downright entertaining appeal. Amy Evans

8 Simon Pegg may have starred in blockbusters such as Star Trek and Mission Impossible 4, but he was still essentially the little British funny man we all know so well. A Fantastic Fear of Everything is poised to challenge Pegg’s versatility as an actor - witness him here as he goes all-out to play a psycho. While A Fantastic Fear of Everything is still strictly speaking a comedy, the story is notably dark and sinister. Pegg plays Jack, a children’s author turned crime novelist whose research into the lives of Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck. When a Hollywood executive strangely takes an interest in his work, he suffers a massive breakdown rather than enjoying his big break. While Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead also loitered on the darker side of life, their roots were firmly in the realms of joyful silliness. This film will show us a new side to Pegg, who uses his comic genius to show us what he’s really made of. Matt Brigden

8 The Five Year Engagement is a fresh, new romantic comedy from the producers of last year’s smash hit Bridesmaids. Director and co-writer Nicholas Stoller (The Muppets, Get Him to the Greek) is in familiar territory with this light-hearted film, which focuses on likeable couple Tom and Violet and follows the ups and downs of their relationship after Tom pops the all-important question. After accepting his proposal, career-minded Violet is given the opportunity to relocate with her job for two years. However, the move is the first of many obstacles that pushes their wedding date further into the future. With the death of elderly relatives only fuelling their families’ questions about the distant wedding day, Tom and Violet start to feel the strain and wonder if the issue of getting married could signify the end of their relationship. Starring Emily Blunt (The Young Victoria) and Jason Segel (Bad Teacher) as the couple in crisis, The Five Year Engagement is sure to raise a laugh or two from anyone who has been in a long-term relationship and understands that marriage is often a touchy subject.

8 After watching their friends couple up, settle down and start families, singletons Jason and Julie decide to come to a special ‘arrangement’ which promises the pair what they believe to be the best of both worlds - a platonic relationship and a baby. Despite everyone else’s reservations, things seem to be going smoothly until potential suitors Edward Burns and Megan Fox enter the picture, creating a boiling pot of sexual tension and emotional awakenings - leading the pair to reconsider their true feelings for one another. Alongside the couple, Mad Men’s Jon Hamm sidelines the scotch and self-loathing of Donald Draper to reunite with Bridesmaids co-star Kristen Wiig, promising another underrated comedic performance, whilst fellow Bridesmaids alumni Maya Rudolph and Chris O’Dowd team up to reveal the intimate ins and outs of a decade of married life. The premise of Friends with Kids may sound somewhat generic after the recent slew of buddies with ‘benefits’ based films but director and leading lady Jennifer Westfeldt’s revelatory narrative is anything but, questioning the true nature of friendship, family and, finally, true love with this poignant tale of social experimentation. Brody Rossiter

JEFF WhO WHo LiVeS lIVES JeFF AT hOme HomE At 8 From Jay and Mark Duplass (Cyrus) comes a comedy with an important message - ‘You can’t choose your family, but you can choose your destiny’. It may sound clichéd, but in the context of the film, it’s powerful stuff. Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) plays the titular Jeff, a man who spends all day every day in his basement room at his Mum’s (Sarandon) house. He has no understanding of adult relationships or responsibilities and isn’t too familiar with having a job. However, when he finally leaves the house one day on an errand for some wood glue, he has a chance meeting with his brother Pat (Helms of The Hangover), who’s following his potentially adulterous wife. Through a catalogue of unforeseen and comedic events - not to mention a bit of brotherly bonding - Jeff discovers what he needs to do with his life rather than sitting around and waiting for something to happen. Segel and Helms are undeniably fantastic comic actors in their own right, and seeing them together will, if not for the sharp directing skills of the Duplass brothers, make this soul- searching comedy worth a watch. MEN IN BLACK 3 (3D)

FILM info FILM credits

8 One of the best science-fiction comedies returns to our screens this year in the form of Men In Black 3 - and early trailers would suggest that the J and K double act is back to its best. The film sees Agent J (Smith) forced to travel back in time to stop an alien mastermind named Boris from assassinating Agent K (Jones) and changing the history of the planet. But with only 24 hours in order to complete the time sensitive operation and zero leads, things don’t look good for Agent J and young agent K (channeled superbly by Josh Brolin) in a mission which might finally see the MIB defeated by the scum of the universe. Fans will also be glad to see that Colombia Pictures have stuck with director Barry Sonnenfeld - who headed up the first two films - which should hopefully provide some consistency in this latest outing. MIB 3 promises to be bigger, better and boasting plenty more aliens, high-tech gadgets and, of course, Will Smith one-liners than ever before! James Wright

Director Barry Sonnenfeld Starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin

8 Since 1998’s Rushmore, Wes Anderson has consistently charmed the proverbial pants off audiences with his wondrously idiosyncratic celebrations of cinema. Anderson’s brand of bizarre storytelling, combined with his affection for the French new wave, has resulted in films such as The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited and the auteur of peculiar’s latest offering, Moonrise Kingdom. When Sam and Suzy flee their small New England town, the residents are thrown into disarray searching for the young lovers as a deadly storm approaches. Once again, Anderson has displayed his knack for rustling up an ensemble cast that seemingly defies all convention recruiting a search party crammed with his usual muses such as Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman to appear alongside some unexpected faces. Bruce Willis stars as the deadpan town sheriff with a dog for his deputy and Edward Norton as a soft spoken scout leader leading a militant troupe hell-bent on recreating Lord of the Flies. Lovingly conceived, richly nuanced and strikingly lovely to look at, Moonrise Kingdom looks to be another beguiling entry into the Anderson’s archive of escapism and adventure. Brody Rossiter

Director Ol Parker

NOW IS GOOD

Starring Dakota Fanning, Jeremy Irvine,

Kaya Scodelario

8 Audiences looking for their drama fix this May need look no further than director Ol Parker’s latest piece of storytelling, Now Is Good. The director has a strong background in the genre, having written the screenplay for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Imagine Me and You while also directing the latter. Now Is Good takes on a more serious topic than Parker’s previous films while retaining an uplifting atmosphere. Based on the book Before I Die by Jenny Downham, Now Is Good tells the story of Tessa, a terminally ill teenager who sets out to enjoy the remainder of her life to the fullest. Tessa (Fanning) makes a list of things she wants to do before she dies, including experiencing drugs, breaking the law and losing her virginity. These plans are complicated by the opinions of her family and a developing romance with her neighbour Adam (Irvine). Starring Dakota Fanning and Jeremy Irvine, Now Is Good promises to be a life-affirming drama with some emotionally powerful moments. Kit Goodliffe

8 A follow-up to 2010’s comedy horror Piranha 3D, Piranha 3DD picks up a year after the attacks on Lake Victoria. After the opening of the new attraction ‘The Big Wet Water Park’, the prehistoric piranhas begin to make their way into the town’s plumbing, gaining access to residential swimming pools and the water park itself. A place for young people to have sun-drenched fun, the staff and patrons of the park soon get more than they bargained for as they come face-to-face with the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Led by park owner Maddy (Panabaker) and a number of her friends, the group try everything they can to stop these man-eating creatures before it is too late - but can they be stopped? Shot in 3D with a screenplay from Saw writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, Piranha 3DD looks set to offer more gore-filled scenes and razorsharp action that will have you reaching for cover. 8 Prometheus is one of the most hotly anticipated cinematic releases in recent years. As well as the excellent TED viral starring Guy Pearce, it has one of the most gripping trailers of the last two years: schizophrenic editing, (destruction of) breathtaking sci-fi landscapes and Inception style BOOMS. Directed by Ridley Scott with an all-star cast, this teaser of sound and fury heralds a return to the franchise that made him famous in 1979. Except, it’s not quite a return to Alien territory. Mr Scott has made very clear this is not a prequel to Alien - not exactly. Set in the same universe, Prometheus shares ‘strands of DNA’ with those seminal pictures, but lacks their preconceived baggage (see Resurrection/ AVP2). So don’t expect face-huggers, Xenomorphs or ill-conceived franchise blending; instead revel in Space Jockeys, Weyland Industries being evil and the best use of 3D this side of Avatar. Set in 2085 (30 years prior to events aboard Nostromo), a star map is found amid Aztec ruins, which is believed to point towards the origin of mankind; but when they arrive, what they find could destroy humanity altogether. Director Rodrigo Cortés

Starring Robert De Niro, Cillian Murphy,

Sigourney Weaver release date 22 june cOnTEnT icons

8 Achieving the seemingly impossible and constructing an enthralling hour and a half narrative around Ryan Reynolds being confined to a wooden coffin, director Ricardo Cortés has followed up his debut, Buried, by delving into the murky world of paranormal phenomena. Margaret (Weaver) and her assistant Tom (Murphy) have spent years separating the phonies and fraudsters from those who truly possess the ‘gift’, but when enigmatic psychic, Simon Silver (De Niro) returns after a 30 year absence, their powers of perception are put to the ultimate test. Ignoring the warnings of Margaret and her student Sally - portrayed by promising newcomer Elizabeth Olsen - Tom continues the investigation that Margaret failed to complete 30 years prior, witnessing Silver’s fatal power in the process. Regarding Cortés’ talent for re-invigorating the cerebral sub-genres of contemporary horror with his unwavering emphasis upon psychology, it would seem the deepest, darkest reaches of the human consciousness will prove the perfect breeding ground for the director’s stylistic flair and subversive flourishes. Looking to deceive and provoke in equal measure, Red Lights is a reality check that you won’t be able to suppress. Brody Rossiter

ROCK OF AGES 8 Back in 2007, Hollywood gave us Hairspray. A remake of the stage show, it was directed by Adam Shankman (Cheaper By The Dozen 2), starred John Travolta as a woman and Zac Efron as yet another high school cutie. It was a recipe for mediocrity but it turned out to be one of the best and most successful musicals this side of Grease. Shankman choreographed a Spice Girls tour, as well as many films, so you could say that this was familiar territory. And he’s back with Rock Of Ages, which promises to reinvent some of the best hits of the 1980s’ rock era. Just like the stage show, it follows waitress Sherri Christian (Hough) and busboy Drew Boley (Boneta) as they pursue their Hollywood dreams and fall in love to a stomping soundtrack of anthemic rock hits from the likes of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Journey and Whitesnake. Starring one of the most eclectic casts in recent years including Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and Mary J. Blige, Rock of Ages promises a thoroughly entertaining ride back to a world of groupies and guitar riffs, bare chests and bandanas and romance with a rock’n’roll twist. Matt Brigden

8 Action man Jason Statham is back in kick-ass form in Safe, an action thriller that will have you teetering on the edge of your seat. When cage fighter Luke Wright (Statham) blows a rigged fight, the Russian Mafia makes an example of him by murdering his family. He is left destitute on the streets of New York plagued by guilt and painfully aware that anyone he develops a bond with will meet the same fate. However, when he discovers the same gangsters who slaughtered his wife are hot on the heels of 12-year-old Chinese girl, Mei (Chan), he finds himself in the midst of a deadly situation. An orphaned maths prodigy who was forced to work for the Triads, Mei holds a numerical code that the Triads, the Russian mob and a shady section of the NYPD will kill for and Luke must outwit them all to save Mei’s life. From the producer that brought us Kill Bill and Inglourious Bastards and the screenwriter of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Remember the Titans, you are guaranteed a fast-paced thrill fest of a movie. 8 Directed by husband-and-wife team Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, Silent House is a remake of Uruguayan festival hit La Casa Muda. Like its predecessor, the narrative is presented in real time, supposedly in one continuous shot, meaning the audience will see and experience the same 88 minutes of nerve-racking terror as the film’s lead character Sarah (Olsen) - intriguing in a nail-biting fashion! Sarah, her father John (Trese) and uncle Peter (Stevens) move to the family’s lakeside house in order to renovate the property before it goes up for sale. After an argument between the two brothers, her uncle leaves in the car and before long - you’ve guessed it her father also goes missing. Now on her own, Sarah finds that she is trapped inside the boarded-up house - unable to contact the outside world. Silent House is one of those scream-at-the-screen horror movies, where you’ll want to shout, ‘Get out of the house!’, while up-and-coming starlet Elizabeth Olsen - in her blood- soaked white tank top - tiptoes from one dark room to the next, making us jump at every turn. Watch it if you dare! Justin Vingoe

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN

Director Rupert Sanders

Starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron

release date 25 may cONTENT icons

8 Kristen Stewart’s Snow White teams up with huntsman Eric (Hemsworth), sent to deliver her to the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) - but make no mistake: this isn’t Bella Swann waiting to be rescued by Edward. Stewart’s character is set to be claws-out from the start in this adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairytale. The aesthetics of director Rupert Sanders’ highconcept video game trailers (including Call of Duty and Halo) look to be extended into this sumptuous action-adventure. With an all- star cast (including eight dwarves), speculation surrounding Stewart’s performance is becoming the focus. She’s appeared in other post-Twilight films, of course. With trailers and publicity giving Theron’s Ravenna much of the screen time, however, it seems audiences are being teased and Stewart’s portrayal of the fairest of them all won’t be fully unveiled until cinemagoers are in their seats. A ploy to attract viewers bent on comparing Stewart to Bella or a clever means of ramping up buzz - either way, throw in a prince and Snow White being trained in the art of war, and the result will certainly be a vivid twist on a much-loved fable.
