t’s not easy being green. Especially when you’re the last line of defence against evil, power-mad villains that are forever up to no good. After saving New York City from their archenemy, Shredder, in their divisive cinema return two years ago, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles must once again venture out of the sewers to confront a powerful threat from another dimension. The half-shell heroes are well equipped when it comes to saving the planet and its many pizza joints (we all know how much the foursome love a slice of ‘za). Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello are super-strong, super-fast, and packing some seriously sharp tools of the trade - that trade being defending the planet. Nevertheless, this time they’re outnumbered. Luckily, the Turtles can turn to old allies and a new, mysterious vigilante for help in their battle against Earth’s inter-dimensional invaders. Superbabe Megan Fox reprises her controversial 2014 role as the Turtles’ feisty companion April O’Neil, and is joined by Stephen Amell - best known for his portrayal of DC Comics’ bow-wielding superhero Arrow. Amell is a long-time fan of all things Ninja Turtles and jumped at the chance to portray the vigilante, Casey Jones. The masked, hockey-stickwielding badass is another celebrated character from the Turtles’ mythology, known for his fearlessness in combat and romantic interest in April. Those familiar with the exploits of the Turtles throughout the 90s will recognise Out Of The Shadows’ maniacal bad guy as none other than
the fiendish Krang! For those of you lucky few yet to be introduced, here’s a quick guide: he’s from a place called Dimension X, a war-torn realm ravaged by fearsome creatures and countless years of intergalactic battles. The air is a thick, pink fog of nitrogen and sulphur and the water is capable of melting anything on Earth. Essentially, you’re not likely to book your summer holidays there. Krang himself is a brain-like alien warlord encased inside a monstrous metal body and he’s not a fan of Turtles… or mankind in general for that matter. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, the wounded Shredder has returned after his defeat at the hands of the Turtles’ tutor, Splinter, and plans on building his very own mutated army. With the help of corrupt scientist, Dr. Baxter Stockman, Shredder turns his cronies Bebop and Rocksteady into ultra-strong anthropomorphic beasts hungry to cause mayhem while on their quest to avenge their bitter boss. Michael Bay has relinquished directorial duties to Dave Green, a relative newcomer to big-budget Hollywood action spectaculars. The largely negative response to the first film was attributed to its lack of action, but have no fear, Green has addressed the previous film’s lack of impact with the addition of what can only be described as a white-knuckle bonanza of chaotic and suspenseful sequences. The laughs that fans have come to expect from the fun-loving Turtles are back too, as the four heroes slash and bash their way through the city streets before taking the fight to the spaceship-filled skies. In an attempt to reconcile a somewhat shaky return to cinemas, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back and stronger than ever, and they’ll need to be as this time they’ve got a real fight on their hands. movies. 16 years. 950 minutes of screen time. Fans have been waiting a very long time for the arrival of Apocalypse, but in 2016, a colossal year for superhero cinema, the end is nigh. Disturbed from his thousand-year slumber by the timeline-altering events of Days Of Future Past, the biggest ‘big bad’ in the X-Men universe has finally awoken. Born in ancient Egypt, ‘The First One’ would become progenitor for the entire mutant race. His powers are

incalculable; a God-like immortal with the ability to control the mind of any mutant and increase fifty-fold in size. He’s arisen to find his descendants fractured, reviled, and revered in equal measure and, heralded by his Four Horsemen (Storm, Psylocke, Angel, and Magneto), plans to lay waste to humanity. Bolstered by a host of fan favourites, Xavier and his X-Men must find a way to overcome a foe more powerful than any other creature in existence. With Bryan Singer returning to direct, an all-star cast, and a budget in excess of $230 million, you can forget Batman V Superman and Civil War, because the final chapter of this reboot trilogy promises to be the biggest superhero clash of the year.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS In the 1970s, before they assumed their iconic mutant identities, Charles & Erik were two friends learning about their powers together. But when a new mutant agitates the Cold War superpowers, their disagreement on how to deal with the threat opens a rift that would last fifty years.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST A sequel to both First Class and the original trilogy that weaves the two timelines together. In a grim future where humanity is wiped out and only a handful of mutants remain, Wolverine - the only mutant capable of surviving the trip - is sent back in time to find young Xavier, change the future, and defeat Magneto as he tests the limits of his power.

» BIG screen lovers can get rewarded for watching their favourite blockbusters at Picturedrome Cinemas. The five venues have launched a loyalty scheme which thanks those who support them. Privilege Card holders accumulate ‘credit’ for each pound spent at the cinema - which can then be redeemed however they wish. The card can be bought online or at the cinemas for £2.50. Every £1 spent on it is worth 2.5 pence in redeemable credit on the card, which can be used on anything bought at the cinemas (excluding alcohol).
Points will stay valid until two years after a card is last used or if it is not renewed each year. As a welcome gift, everyone who signs up now will immediately get the card’s value back in points to get their total up and running. Cards must be registered online once they have been purchased before points can be redeemed. Full terms and conditions are available at: www.picturedromecinemas.co.uk
