How to Pray the Rosary Religious milestones can be fun and memorable and are commonly celebrated with family and friends. Children typically receive gifts upon fulfilling the sacraments, such as First Holy Communion or the sacrament of confirmation. Rosaries are popular religious gifts, and some churches or religious education departments give rosaries as part of their own commemorations of these significant events. Devout Christians may amass quite a collection of rosaries - from simple plastic rosaries to more ornate gem-enhanced alternatives - and never really put them to use. But reciting the rosary is an important way for Christians to express their faith, and families can make such expressions by reciting the rosary together. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops says the rosary is a scripture-based prayer that begins with the "Apostles' Creed," continues with the "Our Father," and then the "Hail Mary." "Glory Be" is prayed at the end. The first prayer summarizes the great mysteries of the Catholic faith. Praying the "Our Father" introduces each mystery from the Biblical
Gospels. Finally, the "Hail Mary" announces the birth of Christ. In addition to the prayers, saying the rosary includes announcing the Divine Mysteries of Contemplation. These include the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous mysteries. There are five mysteries for each category. These mysteries are usually prayed on particular days of the week. When getting started, you may not be familiar with the rosary. But with practice, you soon will have the repetition of prayers set to memory. · To begin, hold the rosary in your hand at the crucifix. Make the Sign of the Cross and start with the "Apostles' Creed." · At the first bead say the "Our Father." · The next three beads are where you recite the "Hail Mary." · At this point on the chain, pray the "Glory Be." · On the next bead announce the mystery; then say the "Our Father." · Pray the "Hail Mary" for the next 10 consecutive beads, while also meditating on the recited
mystery. · At this point in chain, pray the "Glory Be" again. · After that prayer is complete, then recite "Hail, Holy Queen." The 10 "Hail Marys" that follow the announcing of each mystery are called a decade. There are five decades that make up a Chaplet of the Rosary. You can choose to pray the five decades (including announcing all of the mysteries) in one sitting or do so on different days. Reciting the rosary is intended to lead the faithful into calm, restorative and contemplative prayer. It can be an ideal way to remove stress and fully immerse oneself in faith while growing a stronger connection with God.

How to Choose Faith Over Fear
It’s a choice every believer can’t avoid either we are walking in faith or fear. Faith in the face of fear stretches us to grow up spiritually. In Romans 10:17 we recognize that “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ”. In order to build our faith we must broaden our knowledge, understanding, and application of God’s word. The following 5 steps reveal how to choose faith over fear with the Holy Scriptures: Step #1) Know the Word “Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands” (Psalm 119:66). Knowing God’s word is the foundation and beginning of choosing faith over fear. Our knowledge of the Bible can be a deciding factor in the strength or weakness of our faith. It’s our knowing what God’s word says that gives us the courage to boldly stretch our faith in trusting God for the impossible. We look to the examples of our forefathers and foremothers in the faith as a testimony that God is able to help us overcome our fears in adversity. Step #2) Obey the Word
“You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did” (James 2:22). We must commit ourselves to obey God’s word with our actions. Our practice of obeying God’s word gives us confidence when we are confronted by fear. Fear can be paralyzing, but faith is energizing when we put God’s word into action. The more we step out in faith in obedience to word of God with a pure heart—the more our faith grows in the Lord and we are less afraid of the unknown. Step #3) Speak the Word “No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it” (Deuteronomy 30:14). There are times we need to simply speak out loud what the Bible teaches in the face of fear. Fear breeds on our doubts in the silence of our thoughts. Yet in contrast, our faith is strengthened and grows out of our spoken confidence of God’s truth. There’s something about repeating the Holy Scriptures that helps us to push forward when we want to give up. We speak the words within and out loud bolstering our faith
and quieting our fears. Step #4) Pray the Word “For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer” (1 Timothy 4:4-5). Some of the best prayers we can pray come straight from the Bible. Prayers of Moses, David, Daniel, Paul, and best of all—Jesus serves as great examples of how to get our faith over the mountain of fear. Many of the cries out to God in the book of Psalms were written in desperate fearful times causing the author to remember the goodness and grace of God. We can also search the scriptures for the promises of God to build our faith up when we are feeling low. Praying God’s word on a daily basis builds a fortitude of faith that crushes fear. Step #5) Live the Word “Jesus answered, ‘It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4). A believer who knows, obeys, speaks, and prays the Word of God—will live
it out in faith and not fear. The choice of faith becomes easier as we become overwhelmingly confident that God will do as He says in His word—fear just isn’t a viable option. As we live out our faith, the Holy Spirit brings a greater assurance in our hearts. Through a renewed hope in God, we become more attuned to His will and unafraid to move in His direction. It is through the constant use of God’s word that matures our faith to the point where fear is no longer the deciding factor in our lives. Choose Faith! We know that fear brings torment, but perfect love drives it away. As we long for the Word of God more than our necessary physical food—His love will be perfected in our hearts. The faith within our hearts builds from the foundation of love from God. Faith based on the teaching, reading, and hearing of the Bible has the best possibility of overcoming fear. By choosing the Word of God, we choose faith over fear.

and mysterious book that God has chosen as a way to communicate with us. God is the focus of our devotion in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. In Exodus 20:23, God says, "I am the LORD your God...You shall have no other gods before me." In Matthew 4:10, Jesus says, "Worship the Lord your God and serve him only." So, worship is not merely a natural instinct, it's a command from God. Praise and Worship - Why Should We do it?
Praise and Worship - A Natural Desire Praise and worship seems to be universal. Have you ever heard of an explorer finding a new tribe or culture that doesn't worship? Worship is a natural instinct and a basic need for every person. A simple definition of worship is to regard with great devotion or to honor as a divine being. Take a second to think about what you are most devoted to in this life and ask yourself, "Is it worthy of my devotion; do I worship a divine being?" We don't all worship the same God, but everyone worships something or someone. Since we all worship, we should question the reason for this desire. The most logical conclusion is that we were created by a higher being for the very purpose of worship. The ongoing quest of man is to find answers to the fundamental questions of human origin, human nature, and human destiny. There is one book that has the answers to all these questions, including our questions about worship. The Bible is the wonderful
God alone is worthy of our devotion, praise and worship. He is God, our Creator, and we are commanded to praise and worship Him. Psalm 96:9 says, "Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth." Psalm 29:2 says, "Give unto the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness." A.W. Tozer said, "Without worship, we go about miserable." God doesn't want us to be miserable -- He has a perfect plan for our lives. He has done so many things to show us that He loves us and doesn't want us to be miserable. He wants us to have hope for a future with Him - he wants us to have eternal life in heaven with Him. A life of praise and worship fills our deepest needs, and amazingly, it also brings great joy to God. Zephaniah 3:17 states, "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Praise and Worship - How Do We do it? God tells us how to praise and worship him in His
Word. John 4:23 says, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." In order to worship God in truth, we need to know that Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." So, before you can worship in the way that God desires, you have to develop a relationship with Him through faith in Jesus, His Son. The best way that we can praise and worship God is with our every thought and action. Romans 12:12 states, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Praise and Worship - Love from the Heart Many people think that praise and worship is only singing songs at church, but it is so much more! It is also a condition of your heart -- a willingness to exalt God and yield to his will. Worship is an expression of love and awe to the God who gives us more than we deserve. Whether you express your worship by singing, playing music, dancing or in some other way, remember that you are called to worship God with your every action, every day of your life. God is holy, loving, and worthy of all our worship and devotion. "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" (Deuteronomy 6:5)
