Aeroscience

KHS Aeroscience builds different rockets throughout the year that they launch. They recently built rockets to take to Fredericksburg. They built one rocket that was supposed to go supersonic, one rocket to collect data for NASA, and one rocket to go a mile high. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, they did not get to launch these rockets.

These are just some of the power tools that Aeroscience uses to construct their rockets. Photo taken by Sara Myers

KHS Orchestra is a great program for helping students embrace the love for classical and many other types of music. These KHS students learn how to work har and achieve with determination. Currently, these students are preparing for their spring show. Dr. R, the KHS orchestra teacher, tries to prepare his students for their spring concert on May 14, 2013. In the picture, senior, Jason M. stares at the camera. Dr. R says, “ ...It’s hard to teach every student every detail of every song we play, when not everyone is present to learn it. It’s the students’ job to go home and practice what they have learned in class.” KHS orchestra will have over a hundred student joining for the upcoming school in the fall.

The Kingwood Mighty Mustang Military Marching band, or KM4B for short, had a great marching season this year They advanced all the way to Area. They had an equally successful concert season with all three bands receiving a first division. Everyone in band has a great time together. The students who participate “bond and form one big family,” says Audra Koch, because they spend so much time together during and after school.

Mrs. Peters turns on the metronome before practicing a piece of music. Lexi Bustamante says she is “excited to play the Star Wars like music.”
