Charlotte is a fantastic location to spend a summer, with a dynamic social scene and plenty of entertaining attractions in the area.
Uptown and South End are buzzing with trendy restaurants and live music venues. For outdoor enthusiasts, the U.S. National Whitewater Center offers activities like kayaking, rafting, and rock climbing, and the proximity to mountains and beaches makes weekend getaways a breeze. Golf Intern
Are you passionate about golf and hospitality? Looking to kickstart your career in a dynamic and prestigious environment? MPCC is seeking a motivated and hardworking intern for the 2025 Golf Season (6-7 months). As an integral part of our Professional Staff, you will gain invaluable experience in golf operations, perfect for those dedicated to a future in the golf and hospitality industry You will play a key role in ensuring our members and guests have an exceptional experience every time they visit We are looking for motivated individuals who are ready to dive into the world of golf and hospitality, committed to providing top-notch service, and capable of setting the tone for a consistent and exceptional member experience.
Training includes:
Working with team members to ensure exceptional and consistent member/guest experiences
Showing passion for service and apply service standards on the job
Assisting with daily tasks, including opening and closing procedures
Helping with Club Tournaments and serve as Tournament Lead when needed
Setting up weekly events and major tournaments using Golf Genius Software
Knowing and enforcing USGA Rules of Golf
Keeping the golf course properly marked for play and events
Overseeing daily play and ensure adherence to pace of play policies
Serving as starter, welcoming and greeting members and guests
Assisting with the upkeep of the GHIN Handicap Program and Roster
Participating in Junior Golf instructional programs
Working closely with top instructors and observe their techniques
Assisting with ordering, receiving, and displaying merchandise
Maintaining a clean and friendly golf shop
Helping the Outside Service Operations Team when needed
Performing club repairs (re-gripping, re-shafting, etc )
Conducting weekly inventory of golf balls and gloves, and placing orders as needed
Tracking hard good inventory and ensuring fitting carts, demo clubs, and rental clubs are up to standard

Prior hospitality or sports management experience preferred
Ability to work in a variety of work environments and roles - indoors, outdoors, seated, and standing/walking
Ability to work work five full days with two days off per week
Club closed on Mondays, other than a few holidays throughout the Golf Season (Memorial Day, Labor Day)
Position will require long periods of standing and walking. The employee should be able to lift, move, and/or carry up to 15 pounds, as well as carry out various functions that may require pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching

Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience, with additional compensation possible with junior golf instructional programs
