I hope you have been able to enjoy the Club during this beautiful time of year and have plans to do so during Wells Fargo Championshipweek ThebeginningofMaymeansthatpoolseasonisalmostuponus,andIamsuretheSharkswillbereadyforanothergreat season Iamalsopleasedtoreportthe“President’sDrink”atthepoolbarwillremainunchangedthisyearduetopopulardemand–beonthe lookoutforanemailwiththerecipeandpossiblyevenahow-tovideo!
Althoughperhapsnotasexcitingasgreatweatherandpoolseason,Iwanttoshareseveralimportantupdates:
TheClubisonbudgetthroughthefirstfourmonthsoftheyear
TheClub’sacquisitionof2420RoswellAvenueremainsontrack,andthepropertyisundercontract Theclosingmaynotoccurforaslongas threeyearsattheseller’sdiscretion;intheinterim,theClubwillcontinuetousethepropertyforparkingandusethetimetoplanforitsfuture use Relatedtothisacquisition,theClubrecentlysoldthehouseonPenderPlace,andtheproceedsareearninginterestatanattractiverate
TheRacquetCenterrenovationisscheduledtostartlaterthismonth,subjecttogovernmentalapprovals Theworkwilltakeplaceintwo phases,withthefirstphasebeingtheconversionoftheexistingbackhardcourtstodedicatedpickleballcourtsaswellastheconstructionof relatedamenitiesinthatarea.
Speakingoftennisandpickleball,thesearchforournewDirectorofRacquetsiswellunderway,andwehavereceivedtremendousinterest Youwillreceiveanupdatelaterthismonthbyemail
Asyoumayhavenoticed,thefobreadersattheFitnessBuildingrecentlystoppedworkingduetoage TheClubhasinstalledanewaccess systemthatwillbeoperatedusingyoursmartphone Additionally,weplantousethesameaccesssystemattherenovatedtenniscenter
Lastly, the robotic mowers at the tennis center are not only cool to see, but they save us fuel and labor costs, plus are better for the environment.Bythetimeyoureadthisletter,wewillhaveadded22botstoourfleetandexpandedtheirserviceareasaccordingly.Please welcomeournew“friends,”andkudostoDonSmithandhisteamfortheirforward-thinking!
