English Breakfast Breakfast means ‘breaking the fast’. A fast is a time when no food is eaten. Breakfast is the first meal of the day and breaks an overnight fast which could be as long as 10 hours. You are going to listen a video about the British breakfast. But before you have to answer some questions:
1. PRE-LISTENING ACTIVITY 1.- What do you have for breakfast on weekdays?
2.- Do you cook/prepare your own breakfast?
3.- Do you have the same on weekends or when you are travelling or on holidays?
4.- Do you know the difference between a Continental and an English breakfast? Explain it here:
5.- What percentage of your group have cereals for breakfast at home?
6.- How many students ate breakfast this morning?
7.- How many students did not eat breakfast this morning? 8.- How many had only a drink?
Draw a conclusion following this scheme: In the Group x in y students are skipping breakfast and going to school on an empty stomach!
