Good Financial Management for a Good Night’s Sleep Nonprofit Board Treasurer Development presented by The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation & MSU Billings Downtown As a nonprofit board member you are a custodian of something of value to the community and are an integral part of your organization’s success. One of your most important areas of responsibility is fiduciary. Dealing with financial matters requires board members to communicate with each other and their stakeholders in the language of accounting and the law. Since most individuals serving on nonprofit boards are professionally trained in other areas of expertise, there is great potential for unintentional miscommunication, misinterpretation of information and mismanagement of money. This series of custom designed classes will give you and your fellow board members essential tools to keep your organization financially fit, efficient and up to date on laws as they apply to nonprofits. Classes will be taught by professionals with extensive experience in nonprofit financials& law with a curriculum based on best practices, and real life experience. Who should attend: Nonprofit board treasurers, board presidents and any other board member who may be involved in financial decision making and responsibility. A free Introductory Listening Session for all interested parties will take place on Wednesday, January 25 at 6:00 p.m..
