The SVWC is hosting our 2nd annual Water Policy Seminar & Forum on May 23rd The second annual Water Policy Seminar & Forum will be held May 23 at the Anipro Event Center in Absarokee. It will be a forum aimed at landowners, realtors, developers, and recreationalists which will provide information and resources that are available to individuals with water right issues and concerns. These issues impact all of us, don’t miss out on the free event brought to you by the SVWC. Drinks and goodies will be provided. Presenters include: Kim Overcast, Department of Natural Resources Conservation (DNRC), Billings Judge Loble, Montana Water Court, Bozeman Ted Nelson, Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), Bozeman Engineer/Hydrologist, Tom Osborne, Absarokee Water right attorney, Renee` Coppock, Billings
The schedule is as follows: •12:30 p.m. – 12:45 p.m: Introduction of forum and presenters •12:45 p.m. – 1:00 p.m: Brief history on how water rights evolved •1:00 p.m. –1:15 p.m: Your water abstract and what it means •1:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m: Each presenter will have 20 minutes to respond to a list of scenarios •3:00 p.m. – 3:10 p.m: Break •3:10 p.m. – 5:00 p.m: Small group question and answer session rotating between presenters •5:00 p.m. – 5:10 p.m: Forum overview •5:15p.m. – 5:30 p.m: Closing remarks
