Welcome to 2017!

Happy New Year to all our customers, readers, and friends that we have met throughout the years! The end of 2016 brought cattle prices that were trending upwards and gave some positive feeling in this tough world of cattle markets. There have been some powerful registered livestock sales recorded in 2016 throughout the country. What are your objectives for the New Year? Are we going to produce cattle that will walk the walk and talk the talk? Are we going to improve our genetics to a new level and be ready for the upswing in the cattle market? Although we need to keep a tight grip on the rope this coming year, there is still optimism out there and finding the right time to buy and sell cattle will be the key. If at some time in the coming year we think the market is just awful, maybe that is the time to set in there and invest in either open heifers or bred females. Making the move to set in a quality set of replacement females on your ranch will highly depend on the moisture situation. If you are in an area that is comfortable with moisture and feed is readily available, there will always be a demand for high quality cattle when you sell them. As we begin the new year of helping customers market their cattle, the quality we are seeing is outstanding. As you look through this January issue of the Cattlemen’s Invite you will see many reputation families and ranches that have been raising and selling bulls and females for many years. With this issue alone there are over 850 combined years of families experience selecting, raising, and selling bulls and females. It takes a very strong dedication to make something like this happen. It’s great to visit with not only the grandpas that started the programs, but also the sons and grandsons that are still on the ranch and making business decisions every day. Don’t hesitate to call the ranchers who are promoting their sales in this issue. They will know best if they have the right genetics and cattle to work with your individual program. If you need help with your purchases, or have any questions don’t hesitate to give us a call. We will be out, traveling the country looking at cattle and taking pictures for sale promotion.
