“I love painting and drawing. I have a creative mind so I need many outlets. I love writing as well, I have many screenplays in the works. To be a good actress, I think you need to learn and appreciate all aspects of filmmaking. My dad taught me how to ice skate so I can do that pretty well and I love it.” As an actress, what are your motivations & your goals? My goal is to create a name for myself in this industry. I aspire to land that lead role every actress dreams of. I am not all about the glitz and glamour, I am about the passion and creativity this industry exudes. My goals may seem cliche because the majority of the population out here has the same dream in mind. But I have never had that gut feeling, that feeling like I am meant to be somewhere or do something, until I moved to LA. Moving to LA has been the motivation I needed to realize that my dream can be a reality. It was a big decision to make the move and if i didn’t believe that i was meant to be here, i would still be at home. I thought about how one day I’ll be 80 telling stories to my grandchildren, I would want those stories to be about taking chances. Taking chances and making mistakes go hand in hand but sometimes something astounding can come out of it.
camera, I found all aspects fascinating. Imagination is precious and as we grow older we use less and less of it so It’s hard to find a job that keeps your imagination alive. Acting is another form of art to me: it’s a creation or interpretation.
When you were younger, how did you know you would become an actress? My dad would bring me to set with him as a child and it opened my eyes to the making of films and tv shows. Behind or in front of the
We guess you felt blessed to be a part of the STEP UP Revolution movie! Has it been your biggest highlight so far? It definitely was a blessing to be part of a film of that scale! It was an amazing learning expe-

Which actors/actresses really did influence you? I think Charlize Theron is fearless, Leslie Mann cracks me up- I love “This is 40”, Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts- favorite chick flick is “Pretty Woman hands down”, Rachel McAdams, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp- pick the most eccentric characters and I absolutely love them, Stanley Tucci, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt, and you can never leave out Meryl Streep . Believe me as long as that list is... it could go on. What I admire most about those actors is their versatility and passion. I believe they are all the epitome of talent at it’s finest.
rience that i will always be grateful for. However I love doing independent films and watching something small grow and to be a part of that growth. What is the role you dream to get? My dream role would be to play the tough girl with hidden vulnerability. A character with depth and a past. Definitely an action movie, I would love to do my own stunts. On a completely different route, my childhood dream was to play a mermaid. So I’ll take either or! How has Hollywood treated you so far? Honestly it has been fantastic! Hollywood doesn’t have the best rep when it comes to people but I must say everyone I have encountered has been nothing but friendly and welcoming. I love the people here, everyones doing their own thing. What are your projects for the end of the year? I am doing a romance/ sci fi short film and am very excited about that. I really loved the script, big or small if I love the writing and the plot, I’m in. Hopefully there are a few projects in the works, stay tuned!

“The charity is for youth that are in need of a role model. The way I see it is that they simply need that someone to look up to and I want to be that inspiring model for them...”
You recently released a song called “NENA”. What does it mean? Why did you choose this title? Well, NENA is an uplifting song all around, the translation for Nena from Spanish to English is my girl, more like a “sweetheart” so to speak. It can be best described as a glorification of a particular woman to a man. Is it the first time you released a song mixing English and Spanish? I’ve had thoughts in the back of my mind about making a song that was bi-lingual but I didn’t think I was capable of doing it. To be honest, I didn’t think this song was going to come out the way it did, for a first. I liked it. Considering I have a latino background, the fact that mixing the english and spanish vibes together wouldn’t be a bad idea. but to answer directly, yes, it is. Is this song a way to show your roots to your fans? Not a lot of my fans knew I spoke spanish, which is my ethnicity from my father’s side. If you put it like that, yeah, it is a way. Also, its another way of embracing both sides of my coin, what better way to show people anything then through music.
10
What is the story behind NENA? Who is NENA? There really is no story behind Nena. Nena refers to every girl thats out there. It was made so people could embrace a bit of both cultures in terms of music. It was made for everyone who loves a good vibe and enjoys music in either language. How did you hook up with the Los Angeles Youth Network? Can you tell us more about this charity organization? LAYN is a charity organization out of Los Angeles that empowers homeless youth and gives them opportunities besides just shelter and food. They found interest in me from the work I have recently done and decided to put me on board with my new single. They like the example I lead. The charity is for youth that are in need of a role model. The way I see it is that they simply need that someone to look up to and I want to be that inspiring model for them, as I’ve been through tough times myself. That is what the charity it’s all about, helping the youth that need to find a way and helping them carve that path to a better future. Follow me on twitter @TheRealRezzi

“
I would like to thank God for blessing me with the talents I have in order to change lives and help those less fortunate than myself and YA-YA! ENT.” WHO I AM
For those of you that do not know me, I am Young L da Lonegun CEO/Artist of YA-YA! ENT. I come from the Great State of Texas by way of El Paso. I was raised all over the state but hold down my state wherever I go.
LOCAL HIP HOP
The local hip hop scene is pumpin’ great Indie music right now, plenty of talents out here in the city. We got YA-YA! ENT of course, RYL LYF ENT, Promise, TNT Productions, Imperial Legacy, FOE Fam, TMG, Fetti, Baltimore Bishop, Don Daily & Pair-A-Dice ENT, Michael Cloud, Mac Washington, Astro Jones, Milly Jane, King Tut, Mistah Mazi, my cousin G Lew, just to name a few. Shout out to DJ Flipcyide, DJ Marc X and Pooh Heff of Gecko Bros. too! If I missed anyone don’t take it personal, I rock with everybody puttin’ on for the city ya digg?!
MY CITY
The thing that I love about my city is the weather, except in the summer where you can literally fry an egg on the concrete or asphalt (laughs). El Paso is a very beautiful city with some potential of growth. The thing I hate about the city is the lack of unity. Everyone is trying to be the boss or head honcho while stepping on other artists’ toes in the process. There is too much money in cycle for us to be doin’ that. We are competitive in nature because of the elements of Hip Hop, but some artists let that spill over into everyday life. You shouldn’t mix business with personal vendettas so why do it in the game too? I just don’t understand it but hey that’s my opinion and others may think otherwise. The unity and brotherhood in YA-YA! ENT. Is hard to find with any other group…..it’s more of a family here.
MUSC & ME
I’ve always been musically inclined because my mother was heavily involved in music growing up. When she was pregnant with me, she used to clean the house and play music.
YOUNG L
Whenever I heard a beat, melody or instrument I would either kick or perform rotating cartwheels in the womb. I guess that’s why my umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck on the day of my birth (laughs). My mother was musically influenced singing in church choirs, which lead to her singing in bands almost my whole life, and by the way, she still does shows! The special day I found out that I had talent and could be an awesome force to reckon with was when Blue Tex and I, along with a few other friends, did a talent show at our high school during our senior year. The auditorium was packed and we did our thing! Only reason why we didn’t win is because, supposedly, I had cussed in my verse, which I didn’t. Either way, that day broke the ice for me as an artist and entertainer! This was the beginning of the establishment of YA-YA! ENT.
YA-YA! ENT
First and foremost I would like to thank God for blessing me with the talents I have in order to change lives and help those less fortunate than myself and YA-YA! ENT. I also want to thank the fans and supporters all over the world that took the time out to just listen to my songs, mixtapes, or anything that YA-YA! ENT. put a stamp on. You all are the reason why I have made it thus far. Like I previously stated, I rock with everyone puttin’ on for the city. YA-YA! ENT. is a label full of talents all across the board. I of course, am the CEO, Owner and artist. Next we have Blue Tex, a native of Tyler, Texas, who is the lightning bolt of the team, the electricity to get the crowd amped up with his energy. KRed, a native of Sanford, North Carolina, is the idealist that brings many aspects to the table as far as chorus, verses, and subject matter. He has come a long way since coming into the camp. Goo, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, is one of the 2 recent members of YA-YA! ENT. He is all around in creativity and very visual with his lyrics. Bone, a native of Long Beach, CA is our engineer and an artist. His production skills are out of this world and brings that Cali swagger to the mix. PG, a native of North Bergen, New Jersey, is the sole R&B artist on the label. Great voice and creative with the chorus aspect and did I mention his voice? (laughs) I’m very excited about the label as a whole, and independently. We have some talent on this roster and we all bring something different to the table.
DA LONEGUN The FAMILY TIES Mixtape (Hosted by DJ King Flow) Is Coming Soon

“Yes, there is too much violence in Hip Hop. With that being said, most artists are just painting the pictures of their environment. The struggle is universal so mostly everyone comes from it, but the ones that abuse it in lyrics are usually the ones that haven’t been there.” HUSTLE & GRIND Vol.1
That’s funny because I was sending people to Datpiff to download or hear the mixtape and they took it down. It was to my surprise but I think the reason why is because it had too many views and downloads, plus is was on the database for a whole year. It did over 20,000 downloads and over 40,000 views so it was just time to let someone get some shine… but they could of notified me about it! (laughs) It’s all good Datpiff showed me some love, no trippin’ over here. You can still get Hustle & Grind Vol. 1 on 915movement.com/youngldalonegun.
TOP 3
My biggest 3 accomplishments that I have mad thus far are being named Top 150 Indie Artists of 2013 by Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes, getting my degrees in Accounting/Business from various institutions, and establishing my non-profit organization entitled Grind For You.
HIP HOP TODAY
My opinion about the state of hip hop is neutral. Don’t get it twisted that innovation is going to occur constantly, but I think that hip hop is losing its true identity. What I mean is that Hip Hop was built to tell stories, to give advices, and guide people the right way. Nowadays all I hear is how many kilos you sold, how much of a killer you are, and who got the baddest broads. That’s cool and all but that shouldn’t be the whole substance of Hip Hop. I see that the artists are grindin’ harder than the major labels handing out “fake rapper deals”. Once the streets take back hip hop, then maybe the state would be more prosperous. Yes, there is too much violence in Hip Hop. With that being said, most artists are just painting the pictures of their environment. The struggle is universal so mostly everyone comes from it, but the ones that abuse it in lyrics are usually the ones that haven’t been there. Usually when you speak about the violence, you tell it like it is but only because you don’t want your fans to go down that same path. It’s like advice in a rhythm pattern (laughs).
“Instead of being flamboyant and shinin’ all the time, make sure you stay in school & educate yourself. It’s ok to have nice things, but remember that God has eternal riches in store for those who serve Him.” 14
MODEL
The artist that I respect the most in the game……damn that’s a hard question…..but if I had to choose one it would be Bun B. The man is intellectual, great artist, and family man. He is respected because he never stepped on anyone’s toes to get his bread, co-signs for up and coming artists, and holds his camp down. When Pimp was in jail, he started a whole movement and put on for his comrade with t-shirts, hats, letters, money on his books, visits, all of the above. Most people would let their family or homeboys rot in a jail cell. Bun he didn’t do that, he kept it Trill the whole time and still does till this day. Hopefully one day I get to meet him and do a track with him. Bun, if you reading this holla at ya boy mane! Much respect to the UGK movement. There is not really any artist I hate in the game……hate is such a strong word. I salute everyone in the game! Too much money to be made in the game to hate on anyone!
MESSAGE
My message to young hip hop fans is to not believe the hype. Fame and success can eat you up and spit you out quickly. The cars, clothes and opposite sex come with the territory but don’t let that be the main reason why you get into the game. Know your risks when trying to imitate things that you see on TV. Instead of being flamboyant and shinin’ all the time, make sure you stay in school and educate yourself too. It’s ok to have nice things, but remember that God has eternal riches in store for those who serve Him. These material things that you see on TV, hear in music, or wish for can be the same things that can harm you. Just stay humble and enjoy hip hop, but separate the real from fantasy.
DREAMS
My dreams are to sellout crowds, be successful as an artist and person in life, with my label mates doin’ the same. I would love to build a children’s center for kids to be active and productive in order to stay out of the system. There’s not too much that I dream about besides those mentioned and to be the best family man and role model that I can be.
KRAZY STORY
3 days after we buried my cousin Relly I was sitting at home grieving. My phone began to ring and on the display read unknown caller. I let it ring and it would hang up on the 6th ring. It did that for 3 calls. The 4th call, I finally answered it and heard silence. I kept saying hello to see if I would get a response on the other end. After the 2nd hello, I heard a whisper that said, “I’m home”. I said,”Huh?” The whispering voice said “I’m here in heaven, YA-YA!”, and it started beeping like the phone was off the hook. I dropped the phone and cried because I literally think it was him telling me he was in heaven and that YA-YA! ENT. will prosper. Interview by Broke leslies Gerard
