MIKE CHECK DRUMS...

The heartbeat to all music. The beginning of rhythm. Drumming was actually my first musical interest, and it really led the way as far as me getting into rhyming. They’re really similar if you look at them in their simplest forms. Rhyming can be looked at as an instrument in its own right, and can be part of the rhythm if you attack it the right way. Drumming at an early age taught me all about the different pockets and patterns throughout a composition that you can steer your words around. It gave me the foundation for coming up with different rhyme schemes and arrangements.

STORY TELLING...

Story telling brings you back to the roots of it all. For me, I feel like if you don’t have the ability to tell a story within a song, you’re not a complete lyricist. It’s so essential in my eyes, but such a lost art when you look at the past 10 years. You used to be able to name artists that were great story telling lyricists: Nas, Slick Rick, Biz Markie, etc. Not so much anymore, and that’s why I include it in my material. Its funny how it went from being the most frequent form of rhyming at one point, to a unique talent that only a few can capitalize on. “Bring some weed I got a story to tell.”

18

“Randy Pausch said ‘the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough.’ Now I make sure to run through those brick walls. ” NYC...

My first time in NYC. Oh man, you can’t really explain the feeling to its fullest unless you really have lived it. I’m talking about growing up in a town of 2000 people that they call a village, and then being in the middle of Manhattan for the first time and looking at skyscrapers and all the people. It’s like, ‘wow, this is where I want to be. This is where I have to be.’

CHALLENGE...

This is what keeps me engaged with life. Challenges keep me hungry and motivated. Without challenges, life would be crazy boring haha. Even so, some people don’t deal well with obstacles and adversity. I’m glad I’m different from them. My favorite quote that I lean on in times of adversity comes from the late Randy Pausch. He said,“the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough.” Now I make sure to run through those brick walls.

PROJECTS...

I have “Stars, Dreams & Elbow Grease” locked and loaded right now. That’ll be released in December, after we release two vid-

eos that we’re wrapping up soon. Right now, I’m con ceptually putting together another project, which I want to be real unique and different than anything out right now. Since it’s in the early stages I can’t really give too much info on it, other than that it’ll be a great followup to SD&EG.

DREAM...

If you don’t have a dream, you’re just living to die. Every day, I dream about being able to feed myself and my future family by doing what I love. Right now, I’m just plugging away and taking this journey one step at a time. I’d be lying if I said I was balling out of control like a lot of other up and comers claim. That ain’t me. I don’t speak that blasphemy, and that’s why my fans dig me. At the end of my days, my goal is to be fully satisfied with the life I’ve lived, the man I’ve become, and the

Legacy I leave. That’s the ultimate dream!

BEASTLY...

The Beastly video basically took the literal meaning of the word “beast” and turned it into a visual. Nowadays everybody talks about being a beast, so I thought it’d be dope to flip it back to its original meaning. The scenes came out pretty much how I envisioned them, and the video did exactly what it was intended to do. Keep people engaged via crazy visuals.

MIKE CHECK....

As an individual, I hope people see me for how I live. As a dreamer who isn’t afraid to go against the grain. I’m just being me, and that makes me unique in itself. My music doesn’t conform to the radio, blogs or any other outlet’s expectations. I do what feels right and whoever digs it, digs it!

KASH

MANN

FROM CHITOWN 2 MIA...

One of the main reasons I got into music was the talent I felt within. So many artists were inspiring me at that time. I was originally born in Milwaukee and raised in Chicago’s south side. It was extremely hard to go through but we overcame it. I left Chicago for Miami because I saw opportunity. Miami was in a way made for the hip hop lifestyle. It’s a city that can really keep you connected with so many different people but you better have that money or this place is not for you. Miami life definitely wasn’t built on loose change!

HIGHLIGHTS...

The biggest highlights of my career so far would be travelling and performing. When you step off the jet into a new city or another country, and where the people speak another language but still know the lyrics to your music, it’s crazy!

Kash is the definition of self-made, a man who made something out of nothing. Taking 10 and turning it into 200. Kash is opportunity, KashMann is power!

Interview by M.Brown

NOBLE FAM...

The team behind me is Noble Fam Entertainment. My twin brother and I started this company a long time ago when we had nothing and since his passing, the name became even stronger. My partner Ramin keeps the company on top; he’s not only my manager, but a brother to me. He looks out for what we represent as a brand and keeps the Kashmann movement alive with it growing larger every year.

CHALLENGE...

The biggest challenge is having consistent money, labels, and A&Rs. They are the people that help make your dreams a reality. It’s a challenge being independent and doing it without the big executives, that’s the hardest part. At the same time, everything works itself out and it will happen because I don’t believe in failure, I don’t quit…ever.

MO MILLI...

That’s my boy man but at the same time, he’s locked up facing charges. That street life shit. I worked with Mo Milli for the last 10 years. We started this rap shit when we were about fourteen years old in my mother’s backyard shed.

Mo Milli has so much talent and potential. He can easily be one of the next biggest hip hop artists in the industry today but he cant stay out of jail which won’t help him. We both have twins and connected musically so my brother and I put him on and the rest was history… Mo Milli will always be a part of the Noble Fam.

PROJECTS...

We have big projects coming up. Plans to return overseas, book major shows, work on mixtapes, and singles. We have a lot of events going on that we are a part of, just hop onto www.kashmann.com, click events, and the site features some of today’s hottest models that you can check out too. The major project is getting distribution and we are looking for the right partner right now. I just want to pick the best deal for me, my family, and my team.

DREAM...

My dream is just to be happy. I’m not worrying about the material life or the fame. My dream is just for me, my family, and my fans to be happy. As a man I want the same opportunity that everyone else has to make it. Overcoming challenges and making dreams a reality is what Kash is all about and I will never stop. We will keep pushing and we are almost there.

KASHMANN...

I’m about my money, opportunity, and challenge. Kash is the definition of self-made, a man who made something out of nothing. Taking 10 and turning it into 200. Kash is opportunity, KashMann is power, a guy who never gives up on his dreams and works hard for everything.

I’m not worrying about the material life or the fame. My dream is just for me, my family, and my fans to be happy.” Official website: www.kashmann.com

DIMAL

are. You can find all type of music over there, from live rock music to MC battles at the open mics sessions. When I was not as popular as now, I used to go there a lot and I really enjoyed that time , now I dont go there so often but if I do sometimes, I even hear my songs playing around the clubs . If you could be in the studio working on music and have anyone from your country in your corner, who would you have in your team and why them? Here I already worked with all the rappers and singers I wanted to work with plus I got some projects which are not released yet. Now I want to work with someone outside Malta and I think I’m ready for it . As from overseas, I can mention a few i want to work with like T-Pain and Akon. What are your other talents? I can ride a bike or motobike without hands for quite a long distance :))) So as an artist, what type of message do you honestly think your fans and listenners will receive from your music? I think they will get quite a positive message , because im not trying to raise any social problems in my music . I do that type of music which can probably help people to forget about their problems for a moment and just enjoy the music and party your life away. What sites or services do you use to connect with fans? Which social networking sites do you feel are most productive? Before, it was definately Myspace but now the most productive is Facebook but I also use Youtube, Reverbnation and VK (this is russian social network) , I mean you can find me on quite a lot of site if you type Dimal or Russian Dimal

“I have a big heart and i got enough love for everybody.” Malta... How can you describe this country in three words for our readers? & why? Sunny , Safe , Small . Honestly , its a nice place to live in when you are retired but not for young generation cause in my opinion, there arent a lot of opportunities for them to make a good living. But to do some big things you gotta go overseas as Malta’s population are only 450k How is the music industry other there? I would give it 60% out of 100% . Everyone is trying to make music but not everyone pays their attention to the quality. And I would say the music here is stuck in 2000 and musicians are afraid to experiment and find new sounds and stuff like that.

28

What is the Maltese touch? :-) How did it influence your music? If you come to Malta , in the very first night you must go to Paceville Paceville is the best place to party, its a small city where all the clubs

What are your projects for the end of the year? To prepare a great show for Bay Music Awards which will be on 12.12.12 at Bay Arena in Malta. Also I wanna finish off some songs and soon will be packing my things to Miami . So are you a real Mr. Dreamz? What are your dreams? As they say to plant a tree, to build a house, to raise a child and to make my mom more proud of her son. As regarding the music to record some world wide hits, to open my own music label and to help all my fam to get what they want to and to be where they want to be. Your top 3 artist from your area? There are so many artists that have become international phenomenon’s from my area. These are names your readers may never have heard of, but have been pioneers in the world of Bhangra. My top three would have to be: Sukshinder Shinda, A.S Kang and Balwinder Safri. All three have exceptional qualities as artists and have given aspiring artists like myself a great deal of inspiration. Your best musical experience ever in London? That would have to be London Mela this year. The mela is a big outdoor festival with lots of people from a variety of communities, around one hundred thousand people make it down there. I fulfilled one of my dreams by performing with a full on Orchestra. I was joined on stage by the 71 Philharmonia Orchestra - these guys are the Royal Albert Hall’s resident Orchestra. Just the thought of performing with them was overwhelming. It was such a breath taking experience, something that will always be special whatever else I do in my career. (watch highlights here) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-duroq8oIw

“Back in the 80’s there was a mad segregation on how music was consumed due to language barriers but now we have songs like ‘Mundeya to bach ke’ (beware of the boys) by Punjabi MC. That song has all communities jamming to it, whether or not they understand the lyrics.”

“I fulfilled one of my dreams by performing with a full on Orchestra. I was joined on stage by the 71 Philharmonia Orchestra...” What do you love the most about your city? I love the energy of the people in my city, we’re warm, friendly and have got bags of passion for Punjabi music. We keep it real and Desi! What do you hate the most? The accent lol. It’s probably the most irritating accent in the UK. The best place to showcase your music in live? Has to be Mela’s (festivals) I’ve done so many of them in the past 3 years of gigging and I feel like it gets better every year. The feeling of performing with a Live Band in front of thousands of music lovers gives me the urge to work the stage even harder. Anywhere that allows me to perform LIVE is a great stage to showcase my music. I’d love to have the opportunity to perform on World famous platforms, like Madison Square Garden, Royal Albert Hall and many across India, particularly mela’s out there. Does Indian music touch more and more people in your country. I mean out of the indian community? What is your opinion about that? Most definitely. I think music overall is becoming one because people are so open to different sounds. Back in the 80’s there was a mad segregation on how music was consumed due to language barriers but now we have songs like ‘Mundeya to bach ke’ (beware of the boys) by Punjabi MC. That song has all communities jamming to it, whether or not they understand the lyrics. I think music now is about sound design rather than just the lyrics which is advantageous for any style.

the partying culture here. I think ‘High Heels’ is a perfect example of how it’s influenced me. And the Indian touch... How does that mix of culture impact on your sound? The indian touch is in the composition of the songs and the lyrics. The music I consume is most definitely helping me produce these sounds because I’m influenced by what mainstream is producing and combining that with the Indian element. It gives it that edge, especially when you amalgamate different genres. Can you tell us more about the HIGH HEELS single? I feel like High Heels was meant to be my song because of how it came about. When I met up with the producer Honey Singh last year in November I recorded two songs which later we decided weren’t for me. We then went through a stage where we couldn’t agree on styles, but as time went by we came up with ‘Uchi adia da’. The song is exactly what I was looking for and I think the combination of a Hindi composition, punjabi lyrics and a European sounding beat worked well. What are your coming projects? I’ve just finished shooting my latest single (unnamed) I’ve collaborated with Dr Zeus on this one - he’s one of the most celebrated Desi producers in the UK. Its a completely different vibe to High Heels. I try my best to make different styles of music because it’s what I want to be known for. I feel I’ve done that by delivering songs like Theke wali, Tere Mere and Bari Der on my debut album JD. I feel I kept that trend with High Heels.

Define the London Lifestyle? What does it bring to your music? Energy is the perfect word to describe it. The majority of the music that comes out of our scene is energetic and I think it’s partly because

S/O to TEAM SWAZY STYLES, Alyssa & Chrissy & Kelly Voice – always keepin it real! For people who still dont know you very well, how did you get your artist name SWAZY STYLES? The name Swazy was given to be when I was younger, I would cut everyones hair and people said I had Style, Swazy Style. The term is equivalent to what we refer to as “swag” today.

«Have FUN & Enjoy your life» is the main message behind your music? Its all feel good fun music. Leave the drama at the door. Music moves people in different ways, a majority of the time, it is a positive light, thats what I want my music to express. Lets all just have a good time.

You first became with the group Amped Up a couple years ago. How can you define in three words that adventure & why? I actually started out long before the group Amped Up. Being in a group was great, I had many fantastic experiences and toured with top artists. But as life would have it, I decided I wanted to go solo. Amped up still has relevant music..

You did collaborate with many big names in the game... What do they bring to you as an artist? It brings value to my name to say that i’ve done songs with Rick Ross, Lil Jon, Pitbull and other special ones.

While a lot of rappers prefer to stay locked in the same «box», you took the clever decision to make your music evolve towards electro & Pop. Why? I mean what did motivate this choice? I am different. I never follow I am a leader. I would say that I am ecclectic, I like to try new things. 38

You were recently released by your label? This is a new start in your career? Why did you make that choice? Well i decided to start a new chapter in my life. I felt it was time for me to spread my wings and start my own label (Rolls Royce Records). Sometimes in life, you just gotta cut the fat in order to be healthy. I heard Mr Dreamz magazine is about to collaborate with you on a new international Spanish hit for 2013. What do you expect

from that special collaboration? Well i’d like to first thank Mr Dreamz mag for this opportunity. Just like any other project, i expect nothing but GREATNESS! Now what are you cooking for your fans? S/O to all my fans. I promise to always give yall GREAT MUSIC. My next single we are about to drop is called GO NUMB. It’s an ill Electro vibe with a lil dub step. I’m so excited about that single!

How is the zouk music industry other there in Holland? They say here is the birth of cabozouk music.. the most cabozouk artist come from here. The industry is ok, we all work hard to make it better every day. As a kid, what were some of your life-changing moments? That moment you discovered you got the talent for music? When you sing and people enjoy listening to you then you understand you have a talent. With me, it started very young.. But my career really began when i joined the Group SPLASH in 1999. If you could be in the studio working on music and have anyone in your corner, who would you have in your team and why them? Ryan Leslie, R kelly etc.. I like the way they create their own melodies. I respect anyone that creates good music. In 2008, was your collab with Erogen music decisive for your career? Decisive no, Helpfull yes. I respect creative people. Nichols is one of them. He helped make me stronger.

You are an artist but a businessman as well! DG Records... Who is the team behind your movement? I am DGRECORDS, i created all from scratch.. I have some one that does the Business and Management(Jorge T.) And now i am working with my first Female singer (Monica Alice). Internet and the illegal downloads really did damage the zouk industry music (for carribeans). Did you feel the same effects for capeverdean music? It effects all the music industry in the world, but it’s something we have to learn to deal with, and update our ways of working. Is “Volta” your biggest hit so far? Tell us the concept behind that hit! Volta is not my biggest hit. Before Volta, i had several number one songs. But volta was the first that went all over the world because it was written in english... So as an artist, what type of message do you honestly think your fans and listenners will receive from your music?

My music comes from the heart, almost all of the stories really did happen in my life, or in my family&friends’ one. So my fans will always receive the truth. DREGA The Prince of Goa LUVEERD

“Hip Hop is just a fraction of the music around the world. I dont look at Hip Hop beyond borders. The world is bigger than just Hip Hop Music.” Can you Describe your music in three words & explain? Up tempo, informative and orignal. I take the time to make sure, with the ressources I have, I make refreshing music. As a military veteran, you did travel a lot! What did all those travels bring to your music? Yes, I traveled a lot. It gave me an informative look at the world outside California and the United States. I do what i can to place this point of view in my music.

“All the great artists were people you never expected. I’m crazy unexpected”... What is your vision of Hip Hop beyond borders? Hip Hop is just a fraction of the music around the world. I dont look at Hip Hop beyond borders. The world is bigger than just Hip Hop Music.

As a lyricist, what do you think about the current state of Hip hop? Are you nostalgic of the old school touch with maybe more words, more sense? At this point in time, the Rap Game is not about lyricism. At this point in time, it’s about popularity. How cool other people think you are and how many people believe in that coolness. I just make the best music I know and ignore the cool. I would rather be respected for my music. Can you tell us more about your previous video single «FOLLOW ME» ? What’s the concept behind it& how did the public welcome it? Not much to tell. I feel the video and song is self explanatory. After they read this and the comments on youtube, it should help inform the uninformed.

www.loveerd.com

What are your motivations & projects now? My motivations is the love of hip hop music. The next project is in the works. We just shot the Take Yo’ Time Music video. It should be out in December. 45

“A genuine artist that’s true to his craft”

CASHCAINE What is your definition of Art? Art is a form of expression. It’s powerful in that it’s able to capture feelings of the artist who created it. That’s why it’s important for artists to capture some kind of reality to give the art a genuine feel. Obviously, The Deff DOPE video seemed to get a lot of good feedbacks. How did your fans welcome it? Well my true supporters loved it. But it didn’t quite get the reception I was hoping for. Some of the reason is the limited exposure it got on a national level and the lack of local support it recieved in my city. But that’s just one of the struggles of being an independent artist. It was just an eye opener for me and made me realize how much harder I will have to grind when the next project drops. Can you tell us more about your recent STRANGER THAN FICTION music video? In the video,I appear beaten and tied up. Then at the end I break free and fight back and the overall concept was nonconformity. I just feel that our culture has become based on trends. I was also trying to send the message that it’s okay to speak your mind and have your own opinions. I think that’s one reason the music hasn’t continue to progress over the years. In recent Hip Hop culture, a lot of the time anyone who has an opinion is labeled a “hater”. We should promote free speech and individuality. Who is the team behind your movement? Big Captain Entertainment, which I am a co founder. It’s just me and my childhood friend Matthew Orr. We shoot and edit most of our videos, engineer all our own music, and handle all promotion. I also have two managers, Rashad Woodrow and Juan Duke who contribute to the movement.

“All you need is a hustler’s mentality and a “go get it” attitude and you can make something out of nothing.” 46

What do you want people to think when they hear your name? A genuine artist that’s true to his craft. I want my name to be synonymous with greatness. I put all of me into my music with the hopes of it being something people can relate to and embrace. What are your upcoming projects? My next project is a free LP that I’m releasing on December 21st. The title is Dreams Never Die and I’m excited to release this to the people. I feel that it’s my best project to date. I’m also preparing the release of the first single from Dreams Never Die, “We Own The Night”. The song and video should be out the week of Thanksgiving. I’m thinking about a possible Black Friday release. What is your opinion about the music industry today? It’s getting better. I don’t really feel that I relate to majority of the music due to it being so trendy. I also feel that the fact Hip Hop has become so much of a big business that the music has suffered. It’s more so a business now rather than an art form. From a business aspect though it’s become a route that people can take and really become successful entreprenuers. All you need is a hustler’s mentality and a go get it attitude and you can make something out of nothing. Are you the future of HIP HOP? Yes, but we all are the future of Hip Hop. Hip Hop’s future is up to the people within the culure. I will say I hope to play a major role in the future of Hip Hop. But all I can do and focus on now is continuing to grind to be heard by a larger audience. Hopefully they will embrace me and listen to what I have to say. And maybe then I will be able to have a positive influence in the Hip Hop culture. www.twitter.com/cashahoma

WILLIE STARKS

“Fear & Faith, it’s what i’m working on now with street racer. That should be out top of the year & i’m fun going to ride that wave...”

Being from South Jersey, who are the artists who did influence your music? Got some mentors? I grew up with a lot of different influences from Raekwon to Biggie, Jay-z & Nas but as i got older, my music variety got wide because i was young & running into alot of stuff like house music, baltimore club music, indie & acoustic rock. so Mgmt & Circa Survive are just as big of influences as Big & Hov.” Who are the people who work with you? How did you hook up with WAJU Beats from the Street Racers? I like to keep my music home based feature wise just for the fact that i feel we all should come up. it’s not just me out here but i’ve performed with a couple of people, Apollo the Great, Theodore Grams.. they’re pretty big here. WAJU (well i call him Lanre) but we’ve been talking about work48

ing together for like 2 years now but just getting around to it lol...just met through facebook tho. We’ve checked your recent Live at the ART GARAGE. How is the local “LIVE” scene in your area? I try to keep it turnt up! lol but us as South Jersey artists, we don’t have that many hip hop venues, next to none so we have to take it across the bridge. Can you share with us the concept behind SMOKINLLAMA? Does it define yourself as an artist? haha NO! It is like a lifestyle so-to-speak, the clothes will be coming soon & it’s just my crazy world, stuff i like. It means alot but nothing at the same time because it’s just something fun, you don’t have to really think about it. Plus its my tumblr. www.smokinllama.tumblr.com (plug lol)

You are also an actor... Can you tell us more about your previous experiences? I was initially going to school for journalism & theater but i dropped out so i kind of switch my focus over to music but yea i can act if anyone is looking, i’ll audition. What can we expect from Willie Starks for 2013? Fear & Faith, it’s what i’m working on now with the Street Racer.s That should be out top of the year & i’m fun going to ride that wave, the world will see more of me in 2013, definitely .... 2Ls. www.twitter.com/dubeye2ls

MEKOSKY

“There is no ending to the sky, so the things I can accomplish are endless.” www.HotNewHipHop.com/AdventuresOfSky

Tell us more about your artist name? Meko was actually given to me by my goddaughters older sister. We were talking and changing each others name and she said, “I’m gonna call you Meko !”. We laughed about it at first but then it kind of just stuck. My boys started calling me that so I just kept it. Sky was always there. I’ve always had a fascination with the stars and outer space. There is no ending to the sky, so the things I can accomplish are endless. Thats how the name Meko Sky was given life. “The sun amongst the stars...” What does this sentence mean to you? Well thats a quote from my twitter page, which I know everyone is following (@Meko_Sky), and it pretty much means that in this world full of people with so much potential, I shine the brightest. Not trying to sound arrogant, but if you don’t think highly of yourself no one else will and your talent can and mostly likely will be overlooked. Talent is what seperates the « sun » from the « stars ». Just as motivation seperates those who

about other artists who had the talent but didnt have the drive to continue. I’m motivated by my team Loud Silence / Urban Ikonz (Jonathan « Quest » Jourdan, Rickey « Syn » Simmons, Nero « Roze » McIntosh, Kevin « Jae Getta » Davis), those are my brothers. We share the same love and passion for music. I’m motivated by things that may not mean much to others but are things we may take for granted. This is why my next project means so much to me. It’s the first installment of the «Bright Lights » series entitled « END of END ». Its dropping on December 21, of this year. This was done to go along with what some skeptics believe is the end of the world. This album shows different aspects of myself but continues to give you a story throughout the listeners experience. The features are crazy, the tracks are crazy, this album is just CRAZY ! I put everything into this album, and thats exactly what it is an album. It will be free because I want this to be a gift, so you know what is coming next… Greatness

“I would like to thank Mr. Dreamz Magazine for the opportunity first and foremost. I take nothing for granted and appreciate everything I have worked to earn. Especially being from The Bronx, New York. You have to work harder than the next person to even be noticed. I’m a CLouD SurFeR” dream from those who make their dreams a reality. What are your motivations & projects? Motivations for me come from within and also watching and listening to those who took the same path from nothing to something. I’m motivated to persue my dream and goals from watching my mother. She worked hard as a single parent and i know I didnt make it easy on her. I’m motivated everytime I take a step into the studio and hear a beat go on. Then i’m listening while my producer, (James « Dayzel » Fowler) tells me stories

Why should our readers absolutely watch your Summer Time video ? What is the message behind it ? It gives you the feeling of everything the summer has to offer. People hanging out listening to good music, having a good time. It tells a story of making it but still being able to be yourself. It expresses the feeling of being from New York City and enjoying life. It gives you that cool vibe, it makes you want to be a New Yorker. I also have to give credit where its due. The video was shot by Aaron « Ace » Vargas and edited by Joshua « Hall of Mirrors » Jackson. 49

DJ LUCIANO

“Playing in front of 3000 people for 50 Cent‘s concert, and the year after for Rick Ross. Never been so happy to share music with people!”

Do you regard yourself as a DJ or as an artist? There is an artistic process in playing records. On one hand, in the transitions between songs, and on the other hand by the atmosphere the DJ is creating. The funny thing is that the outcome of his choices depends on the reactions of the people. This is why it’s always different, unpredictable and unique. And the mixtapes, if you really invest time in them, are of course “art”, no discussion about that.

I was a gymnast and dancer growing up, so being in the spotlight and performing has always been a passion. I took acting classes at 9 years old and realized I love being in front of the camera, photography came very naturally to me thereafter. How is the modeling industry in FL? Very different than LA or NY. I’m looking forward to going back to the west coast and continuing what I’ve started on a much bigger scale. Describe your tattoo for us...

SOULCENTRALTV

Where do you come from & how did you create SOUL CENTRAL TV? I was born in the UK. Soul Central TV was created by myself, along with the webdesigner obviously lol. Being in the industry as a performer and artist from the early age of 7, I’ve always had a good eye and ear for music along with creative imagination. For the last 15 years, i’ve seen a decline in the quality of music. Many of the lesser talented artists are actually making an impact in the music industry. Why do these talented artists never get the opportunity? it’s because they are shunned by specific record companies. I had noticed a decline in the level of quality in the urban music industry. What is the concept behind that company? The concept behind SOULCENTRALTV.NET is The first Music Video Hub Of The World that creates something unique. The site is mainly based around artists, media production and promotions. But the concept of It is the Music Video Hub of the World, and when the rest of the site is finished, it will exactly achieve that and much more. There are some things I wont share as it’s still in the process, but I will definitely keep the Mr Dream’s TEAM updated. Who is the team behind that company? Even though I am affiliated with many other powerful groups in media, I am the Team and creative mind behind Soul Central TV, apart from our supreme web designer. We are currently still fine tuneing the site, so expect a lot of updates real soon! As a professional, what is your vision of the music industry today in UK? Well it’s actually got much better over the last 5 years with the emergence of Artists like Tinchy Stryder ,Tinie Tempah, Dizzie Rascal, Rita Ora, Emele Sande, Dot Rotten, K Koke and the USG Family, Jsunz Ndubz, Jay Sean and the list goes on. I personally feel, and I don’t want to sound disrespectful, that the UK artists could give the U.S a good test, considering the size of the UK to the U.S. I think that it is awesome and I feel that the UK artists are getting more respect in the music industry than they have had for a while!

What type of advices can you give to young indie artists who want to shine fast in the game? Sometimes the music industry can be a short career for some, so time is of the essence. You basically have 2 choices as an artist: 1. working to get that deal money, which there’s no guarantee you will! 2. Going independent which can be much more beneficial if you work out the strategy that you take. This is where people like myself come into play, I am an online marketing and strategist with a host of experience in manageing and working with a lot of very highly respected artists across the world. How do you imagine the music industry 10 years from now? The Music Industry is forever changing with the times,so I feel 10 years in the future music will be viewed and used in different ways, everything will be digital, and anything like cds, dvds will rise in price to cover the cost of the sales loss. So keep updated with the latest digital music trends is very important in a time where digital media is reaching the extreme. What are your upcoming projects? Well I am working on an idea to do our own Urban Talent Show, but on a another level, it is designed to help talented artists maximize there potential in more ways than one. the Winner receives £3000 prize of music packages, music videos, photoshoots. radio interviews alongside known industry artists and a lot more. It’s called Future Stars UK. (WWW.FUTURESTARSUK.COM). Negotiations have already started to take this talent show to a few other countrys,West indies, the US, South Americas and Africa, and we are always looking for new representatives from different countries to hold futurestars events in there countrys or regions. If you are interested, email PlatinumPrragency@ gmail.com . I’m still running SOUL TV also REGGAE JAM TV, these TV shows are broadcasted on cable in the US and Canada, it’s also streamed online across the globe. All artists interested in having a Interview and Video Submission slots on REGGAE JAM TV OR SOUL TV Email us at Reggaejamtv@gmail.com or Soulcentraltv@gmail.com theres a lot in store for 2013, even got an artist tour planned so stay tuned with updates and watching the site take shape and expand! www.soulcentraltv.net
