Introduction to
Guardian Staff Safety Systems
From its inception in 2000, Guardian Staff Safety Systems is now recognised as the leading provider of Staff Safety and Protection Systems in the UK and European marketplace. It has become the preferred choice of several Government Departments and is widely used by NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers in the UK. In 2007 Guardian developed a business plan to enter the Australian market and this was implemented during 2008. Our activities in Australia are based in Perth and the Company title is AusScott Guardian Systems Pty Ltd. The Managing Director is Mr John Scott. The Guardian Staff Safety System (In Australia known as “Mobile Duress Alarm System”) has a wide customer base and range of applications that include Hospitals, Mental Health Units, Primary Care Centres, GP Surgeries, Airports, Courtrooms, Job Centres, Bail Hostels and Schools. Guardian operates a policy of continual product development and the systems we provide incorporate many unique features which we believe provide a safer environment for staff who depend on an effective and reliable system for their safety and wellbeing. How has this been achieved? The answer is simple – we listen to our customers. Our development program is driven by a combination of the continuing advances in communications technology and our customers needs. Many of the features which a Guardian system provides were incorporated in response to comments and requests from either existing or potential customers, who have encountered specific problems or issues requiring new solutions. Several additional innovative features are currently being developed and will be launched during 2012/13. In a hostile working environment where lives are potentially at risk, there can be no compromise. Guardian are committed to providing the best and most reliable staff protection and safety system possible. Guardian Staff Safety Systems sells its products and services in two ways: • Through authorised and accredited distributors and installers who are able to provide a local support and service facility, and • Direct to major and Government organisations, NHS Trusts and companies who operate across the UK, European and Australian markets. Following installation, handover and end user staff training, for Guardian that is not the end of the story. A comprehensive UK wide service facility is also available. Service and Maintenance contracts are tailored to meet the clients needs. A 24/7 telephone contact line and help desk is available to all our Service customers, along with the availability of “on call” service engineers with response times negotiated to meet the clients needs. Our export success has been recognised by the UKTI (UK Trade and Investments) who are a Government organisation providing support to British companies. Our products Guardian’s philosophy is to “lead and not follow”. Our systems incorporate many unique features which we think provide a safer working environment for staff who rely on it for their well being. Guardian have developed systems using IP (Internet Protocol) technology. This enables simple integration with other security elements such as CCTV, Access Control, Data logging, remote fault finding and programming.
STAFF SAFETY SYSTEM Duress Alarm The system employs Infra Red or Radio Frequency or a combination of both to accurately locate a member of staff if they have activated their “Personal Activation Device” requesting either assistance or response to an “Attack”. Conventional systems or TCP/IP compatible components are available.
NURSECALL SYSTEM INTERCALL is a well known International brand and fully integrates with the Guardian staff safety system. Either system can be supplied and installed individually or as a combined system.
GRAPHICS / INTEGRATION Cortech Developments :The leading provider in the UK of high quality Graphics and Integration has developed the “Datalog Lite” specifically for Guardian Staff Safety installations. Datalog 5 can be used for integration of Guardian with CCTV, Access Control and other security systems.
We have been involved in several “high profile” projects over the past few years, examples are
• Staff safety system for the refurbishment of the A & E Department in the Barts & Royal London Hospital for the 2012 Olympics. • The Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, London for Customs & Excise, Immigration and Special Branch. • Several “ new build” hospitals across Australia.
Alongside the traditional hospital and care facilities, prison and airport locations Guardian have now installed systems in retail and banking environments, custodial suits, childrens wards, police stations, casinos, shops and supermarkets.
Guardian has a growing portfolio of international clients, alongside a history of successful European installations. AusScott Guardian Systems is now the preferred supplier for Duress Alarms in Western Australia, and is expanding into airports, banks, custodial suites, and border agencies, following a pattern of expansion similar to Guardians successes in the UK.
