World Religions Sometimes out in the world its hard to find the right path of your life. But in todays article of National Geographic, a group of volunteering adventurous set out on a journey with Marco polo to analyze the world's top five most major religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
Why Religion? In modern times religion has grown into numberous types. Now people have joined religions because of beleifs, or spiritual paths. These people will join a religion and choose their way of life. We need to know about these religions if we are to understand why people worship them.
What makes a religion? In numerous ways religions will begin from prophecies, to histories. Religions are not simply showing up from the blue but have long time formed from theories and faith of one's imagination. In every religion there can be found a history, prophecy, or even a god. Page

The oldest of the three monotheistic religions. Judaism is the religion practiced in the belief of one's relationship with god. Judaism, being the first one god religion, believe they are the chosen people of god.
History The history of Judaism involves a man named Abraham who was freed from Egyptian slavery by Moses and led to the “promise land�. Abraham began the religion of Judaism after being returned home and had made it so the relationship would be covenant between god and people.
Geography A rabbi is equivalent to a priest in Judaism.(above)
Judaism dates back to 4000 B.C.E starting in the Middle East. The religion has a population of around 2 million worldwide. The capital of this religion would be Jerusalem in Israel having the highest density of Jews.

Buddhism The religion known as Buddhism is about the purity and happiness of life. To rid of all desires and become one with yourself. Basically Buddhism is about perfect Zen and happiness.
History The history of Buddhism begins with a prince who realized he was not happy with his life. So he decides to trek out into the world to find perfect happiness. One day he meditated under a tree for seven weeks and realized the road to perfect happiness was to rid all desires.

Buddhism began in Nepal right in between India and China. Because of its location it has adopted the idea of reincarnation from Hinduism. The population of Buddhism resides mostly in Indonesia.

Hinduism This religion is unlike our previous ones. Hinduism has more then one god, although some would testify it is one god the extra gods are just personalities of the main god. The religion focuses on love of all creatures and worshiping the gods.
History
The history dates so far back that there is no exact documented history of it's origins but it began back in 3000 BCE and started in the Indus Valley. The religion has added more gods overtime as well.
Geography Besides the fact of the religions birth place and its age. The religion has 13 million followers. The religion is currently in moder pakistan, spread worldwide, but resides in pakistan. The Hindu god Shiva.(above)

Islam The religion of Islam's belief is they have one god called Allah. This god is who they worship three times a day. The followers of this religion always pray to one direction, toward Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
History The history of Islam consists of a prophet named Muhammad. This prophet was said to spoken the words of how life should be done through god. Thus the birth of Islam occurred

Christianity Christianity is all about the teachings of Jesus Christ. Of how he was born, how he died, and how he lived are all included in the belief of Christianity. Although Christianity also believes in god and the bible.
History The history can basically be Jesus's life but Christianity began much later after Jesus died. The creator of Christianity was John the Baptist a friend of Jesus. He believed in the teachings of Jesus and converted them into a religion.
