Reminiscence and the Unseen features two artists whose work aims to understand human relationships to the world and to each other. Both explore urban life through themes of family and community, but also touch upon the fragmentation and isolation that is part of our city’s landscape.
Reminiscence and the Unseen runs from Saturday, January 13 through March 3, 2018.

DARIN DARBY Darin Darby is a self-taught artist that has developed a unique process of portrait making he calls Laypuzzim art. His collage technique begins with textured card stock paper, mat board or wood. Each individual color of the art piece is cut out by hand, layered and puzzled together to create an image using negative space. Many of his thought-provoking images are inspired by events from his childhood in Detroit. Some of his current work also features biblical themes and poignant father and son portraits.

Alone in the Rain
TIM TONACHELLA Tim Tonachella is a legally blind artist who has had a life-long love of photography, but his limited sight made him reluctant to do more than family snapshots and personal projects. With the encouragement of friends, who helped him attain the equipment needed to bring life to his art, Tim began focusing on the city landscape and people of Detroit. His images capture the personality of the city and some of its forgotten residents, focusing on the feeling of seclusion that often accompanies urban living.

Philosophy
Mosaic Productions LLC is an art exhibition / curatorial business. We will introduce high quality, thought provoking visual art into the Detroit Community.
The business will create a space for artists to be able to show and sell their work. There will be a mix of solo shows and themed based group shows, mostly local artists. Having an access to a fenced in outdoor spaced would give us the ability to create a sculpture garden, which would be a unique piece to the gallery.
We are an exhibition planning company whose goal is to promote artists from the metro Detroit area and get them recognized in the art communities here and elsewhere in the world. If you are an artist interested in showing your work, please contact us
History
Founded in 2002, we have curated approximately 10 shows per year, utilizing our own temporary gallery space, as well as other venues upon request. Mosaic has been involved in art shows as large and complex as 300 plus piece group shows or as small as single artist exhibitions. From 2010-2011, Mosaic Productions LLC was fortunate to be offered a gallery space rent free for a year on the east side of Detroit. We have also been hired by the Madonna University and Majestic Café to curate shows for multiple years in both venues. We have a great reputation in the Detroit Metro area. We have a large following and we are known for our thought provoking and cutting edge exhibits.
