LEEDS GUIDE MAGAZINE
PROJECT DETAILS: As part of my internship at The Leeds Guide Magazine, I was asked to create several layouts using the provided elements and body copy. It was my responsibility to ensure the layouts were professional looking, while also looking dynamic and interesting. My time with The Leeds Guide was spent working on the bi-weekly magazine layouts and ensuring all the layout designs were carried out in a timely manner. I also worked on small adverts for paying clients and designed several elements for their annual “Student Guide

LEEDS LIBRARY PROMOTIONAL IMAGERY
PROJECT DETAILS: This fictional project was created to promote my local library in Leeds. Visual imagery associated with libraries and books was utilised, but the final imagery created had a twist - the text was hand cut out of the books themselves. This playful and experimental technique of creating imagery and typography was a reference to the creativity that can be found in books and the unexpected things that you can learn in the library.

IKEA CATALOGUE PROMOTIONAL IMAGERY
PROJECT DETAILS: This fictional brief was carried out while at University and was intended to promote the IKEA catalogue. Hand cut elements were photographed to create promotional imagery that would be used as banners to hang in stores. These promotional posters were to focus customers attention on the catalogue and the benefits of browsing what they want before they visit the retail outlet to use their time efficiently.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND BOOK COVERS
PROJECT DETAILS: A set of three hand cut paper cut dust jackets accompanied a digitally printed cover that was designed by myself to fulfil a fictional brief for Puffin Books. The focus of the designs was the iconic imagery from the book Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland and included delicate and detailed designs such as the tea pots, flowers and playing card suits. The digitally designed and printed book covers were left as simple and straight forward as possible as to focus on the paper aspect of the covers, which would lend themselves to collectors of special edition books.

HANNAH ZAKARI WINDOW DISPLAY

OPRAH MAGAZINE
PROJECT DETAILS: I was commissioned by the art director to create a series of delicate botanical paper cut pieces to feature in an editorial story for the Valentines edition of the magazine that was released in February 2013. The main piece of the editorial consisted of a varying range of botanical elements arranged in an organic design, leaving space for the title. I also created a delicate paper cut napkin ring design, several tiny botanical silhouettes for decoration of paper cone favors, a 3D typographic menu to display the food for the event and all of the paper cut pieces running throughout the feature - such as the title pieces for the food in the editorial sections.
