LeaF Ahead School board members can help shape the future of education by participating in the LeaF initiative By Katie King and Lucy Payne Katie King

We each have a role in shaping the future of learning, but in an increasingly complex world characterized by rapid change, considering how we might influence the future can be difficult. That’s why MSBA has joined with the University of St. Thomas and KnowledgeWorks in Leading for the Future (LeaF) Series. It is designed to equip Minnesota school board members with tools and mindsets of futures thinking, which can help them consider multiple possibilities and lead amid uncertainty. A cohort of 15 to 20 participants from across the state will work together to think critically and creatively about the future and to apply a future-oriented lens to policy development and analysis.
