Občanské sdružení Sluneční paprsek (The civic association Sun Ray) The civic association Sun Ray was founded on the basis of many years of experience and the enthusiasm of people who participated in therapy visits organized for children with cancer or other serious illness and for children from orphanages. The emergence of the Sun Ray was initiated by the need to create an organization that would guarantee the quality of such stays. In recent years, there has been a rotation of organizations arranging the stays and they have been slightly different each year. Over the span of more than ten years, the team caring for children became more formal. Working together, doctors, physiotherapists, educators and animators has created a program for curative stays.
We have been there to lend a hand during every flood in the Czech Republic, we provide social services and help students and teachers in more than 3,300 Czech schools. Their efforts have created a unique program for children who are very ill with a range of adverse and residual effects from cancer therapy, with the option of helping these children in terms of somatic, medical, physiotherapy, and breathing exercises. At the same time, these children are often spending time in a group for the first time in a long time, and this project promotes the development of psychosocial habits and rehabilitation after long-term treatment. The participation of children from orphanages in the project contributes to the outstanding interaction of children who, as oncology patients or those who are otherwise severely ill, receive extensive parental love with children who are relatively healthy, but do not know such parental love. The priority remains to improve not only the medical states of these children, but also to attempt to improve their quality of life, especially psychosocially. www.slunecnipaprsek.cz

ART OF MARBLING
Ebru, i.e. Marbling, is one of the oldest Turkish paper ornament arts. It was brought to Anatolia from Central Asia by the Turks in 11th Century, progressed in the Seljuk and Ottoman Era, and then entered into Europe with the name of “Turkish Paper”. It was used, in addition to the art of binding, in calligraphy as background and sill. With the spread of calligraphic art in artistic workshops, the value of this decorated paper had increased and became as important to even frame it. Ebru, which is a traditional Turkish art, is considered today as a branch of abstract and visual arts. Ebru artists are seeking visual beauty by interpreting nature, objects and their surroundings from their individual perspective. They are blending their power of imagination with aesthetics to create this visual beauty on water and reflecting it on paper.
The works exhibited within the framework of the “5th World Ebru Day”, which we are celebrating this year in Prague, are distinguished examples of the Ebru art. I would like to congratulate Mr. Atilla Can, the Turkish Ebru artist who has a great contribution in UNESCO’s adoption of Ebru as a World Cultural Heritage and as well as the other organizers of this exhibition. It I my sincere hope that this wonderful activity will play a role in further promotion of Ebru art in Czech Republic and in Europe.

It was a historic moment for the Turkish people when UNESCO included Ebru in the cultural heritage list, taking it and under preservation, marking the first time that preservation was provided for a Turkish-origin art by UNESCO in its history. The art of Ebru has been written in the history books in letters of gold as the 12th Turkish element. Through his incredible determination and effort, Atilla Can has achieved a great historical milestone in Ebru history.
In addition to achieving UNESCO status for Ebru, Atilla envisioned an increasing awareness and popularity for Ebru Art. An early stated goal was to bring together Ebru artists from around the world on a yearly basis and start the World Ebru Day Celebrations, regardless of the acceptance of his project by UNESCO. After completing preparations, he organized the first World Ebru Day in Istanbul in 2012 with various events, panels and exhibitions
The process was started when Atilla submitted a petition to the United Nations through the Paris office of UNESCO. In his petition, Atilla explained the virtues of Ebru as a historic and relevant art form. He passionately stated the grounds for why it must be handed down to future generations and taken under preservation as a valuable and genuine field of art with a history dating back more than 1,000 years. At the time, Ebru was not widely known and there certainly wasn’t even the idea of a “World Marbling (Ebru) Day”.
Thereafter, instead of holding the event in the same city every year, he decided to organize the event in different cities in order to popularize paper marbling and introduce it to different cities and countries. Pushing the event to new cities helps to introduce and explain the art of paper marbling to different cultures, make it more widespread and transform it into a universal art. After the 2012 event in Istanbul, World Paper Marbling Day was organized in Gaziantep, Trabzon and Yalova in 2013, 2014 and 2015 respectively.
In his efforts, Atilla sent petitions and marbling samples to UNESCO from many different countries. He also submitted petitions and made phone calls to many different governmental and NGO offices, the Ministry of Culture and the national UNESCO commission in Turkey, explaining that he had been submitting petitions to the UN and UNESCO Paris to raise awareness related to the art of paper marbling. He requested support from government offices for his aim and explained the requirement to act collectively in order to send an official petition to UNESCO. Through his care and concern, he worked to convince the people and entities to believe in his vision.
In 2016, Prague was awarded the honor to host the 5th World Ebru Day (Which has now expanded to a full week). The mystery and beauty of Prague promises to be a deep and memorable match for the Ebru world. Also November 2016 is the 2nd anniversary of UNESCO’s inclusion of Ebru art in the cultural heritage list.
Over the course of five and a half years of continued and dedicated work, he shared his vision of the UNESCO project to all Ebru artists he could reach and requested them to submit petitions to UNESCO Paris together with samples of their works. As if this moment had been waiting for centuries, an incredible storm of excitement was created in a flash of action. Ebru artists from around the world sent thousands of samples to UNESCO in support of Atilla’s effort. Samples and petitions continued to arrive for months, and it’s said that the Ebru art samples were enough to wrap the entire UNESCO building in Paris.
Today, World Ebru Day enjoys support and participation from nearly 50 countries. Atilla’s dream has become a great personal achievement and a UNESCO victory. He is very proud of being the leading player in this story and he repeats the following with great happiness: “Never give up dreaming. Only the most confident experience great miracles”.

Ebru for me is the beauty, tranquility and, perhaps most importantly, the inspiration of the process and the results. Ebru is also for me a kind of solitude, a reflection, a shelter. From the moment I saw this beautiful, fluid imagery, floating on the water, was the first time I felt like I saw everything, all at once. It was love at first sight. Ebru is a clever and charming art. It‘s unpredictable; its magic conceals itself in the knowledge and skills of many previous masters, from centuries forgotten. It also holds the secrets of future discoveries and techniques perhaps once known by unknown masters, waiting to be rediscovered. Ebru has provided me with an intangible benefit as an opportunity to make my world and the world of my daughter a brighter and more beautiful place. There is nothing to compare with spending quality time with her, creating art independently side by side, and together. It’s an art that we share, it‘s an art that we create together and it‘s a foundation for inspiring communication. It‘s something I will cherish for eternity. I would like to thank all the inspirational Masters under whom I have studied and all the colleagues who have inspired me in my art and in my work for the 5th Annual World Ebru Day. I am thankful to Atilla Can for giving me a chance to organize this great event. Šárka Duran, you have been a wonderful influence and collaborator for all kinds of projects. Our collaboration on your “Ebru Patchwork“ was a great adventure. I look forward to our next crazy project! Sevil Başaran, Merin Yıldırım, Ece Ergüney, Ebru Özel, Anastasia Ozhegova Krlišová, Igor Lukyanov, you are my heroes for handling so many translations! A special thanks also to Ambassador Ahmet Necati Bigali. Thank you for giving us your attention and support for the 5th Annual World Ebru Day. Thank you Olga Kaurova, Anna Prigoda and Anna Klykovskaya for creating interesting and engaging videos to promote this event. David my dear, thank you for your support and understanding
while I dedicated my time to this event. You inspire me, and you generously support all my projects. And finally, I must send a heartfelt thank you to everyone at MSB Events. I don‘t know how you handle me, but you are the best team ever for believing in every new project we start. You are very special to me, and I thank you. To all the visitors and especially visitors who are new to Ebru, I would like to tell you that Ebru is not just a dance of colors on the water, but is also a useful art-therapy tool and a deeply personal journey. I welcome you all to the 5th Annual World Ebru Day. Xenia Sulimenko Ebru Artist Organizer of the 5th World Ebru Day www.ebruart.eu www.iLOVEebru.com www.xanda-design.com www.msbevents.com About Xenia In 1998, Xenia emigrated from Kazakhstan to Prague and fell in love with this magical city. In 2014 Xenia and her 4 year-old daughter Amelia Nichole, found Ebru to be a perfect match for Mama‘s curious nature and Nika‘s fun drawing and wild coloring techniques! Not having an art education, and more than that, not being able to draw even a little, Xenia found that she was very much able to handle the techniques and procedures to start creating Ebru through a course in Prague given by the Ebru artist Kubra Aşık. It was at this class that she met the Czech Ebru artist Šárka Duran, and her Ebru career began to take off. Since then a new adventure has started. Xenia has developed an online Ebru supply business based on a fantastic relationship with Art Deco and Karin, both of whom supply world class quality in Ebru supplies. Xenia spreads her love of Ebru with the local Prague community and across the world through the development of a new online community of Ebru artists. She creates and publishes interesting and useful content on social networks about Ebru and Ebru artists.

Paula Fiori Buenos Aires, Argentina I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1973. I have been a Calligrapher Publico (UBA) for 16 years. In my expert capacity I have analyzed papers, inks and writing. I have also studied and I practice the art of calligraphy. In 2004 I began making handmade cotton paper and vegetable fibers. It was at this time that I was introduced to Ebru. 5 years ago I moved to Cordoba, where I began to focus more heavily on my self-taught technique and adapted materials. The art of Ebru captivates me and it pushes me to use bright colors and create unique forms. The feelings are as unique as each image. I also teach Ebru in different parts of the country. In 2015 I finished my studies in the Visual Arts with a focus on Bookbinding and Restoration. While many of my works are intended for bookbinding, some friends and colleagues choose to frame them. Recently, I participated in the “Ebru Patchwork“ project organized by Šárka and Xenia. This year I was invited to the Fair „Quehacer el libro“ at the Book Fair in Buenos Aires at the stand of EARA (Bookbinders Handcrafted of Argentina) and the 1st Expo-Feria Papers, Art and Crafts in Bs. As. Argentina.

In 2013, I learned about Ebru and fell in love with it at first sight. In 2014, I began training in Ebru Reng-i-su and completely immersed myself in the technique. Every day, I am still improving my skills and my knowledge.

Vesile Yilmaz Perth, Australia www.marblingart.com.au I was born in Turkey and moved to Australia in 2012. I enjoy sharing my 15 years of passion for Ebru Art with the people of Western Australia through workshops, demonstrations and exhibitions. ` For me the uniqueness, harmony and peace of different cultures here in Australia is best reflected through the mysterious mirror of Ebru. Though the paints are from different soils, each color has its own space on the tray, together they blend to complete each other and to form their unique patterns. For me, the end result is absolutely beautiful, just like Australia. Xenia Sulimenko Prague, Czech Republic www.ebruart.eu www.iLOVEebru.com www.xanda-design.com In 2014, I happened to find Ebru under very strange circumstances when I randomly saw a video online. My 4 year-old daughter was a great motivation to discover and learn about Ebru. However, I immediately noticed a major obstacle for me and many artists in Europe: the supplies in Europe were virtually nonexistent. My love of business took over, and I contacted manufacturers in Turkey found myself drawn deeper into the Ebru community. I love spreading my love of Ebru with the local Prague community and as well across the world. I‘ve been lucky to train with artists like Kubra Aşık, Kubilay Dinçer and Merve Sözeri, Anna Ivanova, Anna Prigoda, Tatiana Kirillova, Antonio Velez Celemin and Julia Tsareva. Starting in 2015, I began creating and publishing interesting and useful content on social networks about Ebru and Ebru artists, thanks to the growth of the Ebru social network. My Ebru journey is just beginning, and I look forward to someday working with all the masters of Ebru, and to consistently convey the knowledge and techniques of great Ebru artists in an entertaining way. I also continue to collaborate and share my love of Ebru with my lovely and talented daughter, Amelia Nichole (Nika).

Lela Sarishvili Tbilisi, Georgia I was born in 1997 in the small, but very beautiful village of Boladjuri. Currently I am student studying economics in Tbilisi State University. It was here that I took part in some art exhibitions and earned certificates. At this time, I am taking part in a TV Show called “Georgia’s Got Talent“. In May 2016 I first saw marbling. I will never forgot it, it was “Van Gogh on Dark Water“ by Garip Ay. I was so impressed that I immediately decided I should start drawing on water. I would like to thank Xenia Sulimenko, who was my guide in my early days. She helped me immensely and words cannot express how much I appreciate her kindness. I love dreams and I believe in miracles. Going to Prague for the 5th Word Ebru Day is my dream. I hope it will come true, and I hope to see you all!

Barbara Kelnhofer Staufen, Germany www.marbled-paper-arts.com Bookseller, social-anthropologist (MA), museum educator. In 1983 my journey with marbling started during annual evening courses at the open university in Freiburg. Here I acquired bookbinding-techniques and learned about decorated papers. An intensive process of studying the various techniques, the colors and the history of decorated papers, especially paper-marbling, began. From the beginning, oil colors and working on a size of carragheen-moss were my favorite mode of expression. This is how I discovered Oleaugraphy, which has become my true passion since. Hence I am a great fan of Tini Miura’s paper-works and books. I took my first course in Ebru with Hikmet Barutcugil, who inspired me tremendously, I work with natural pigments, and I continue to learn more and more about the traditional aspects of Ebru. Nowadays, I am experimenting and discovering new avenues, developing my knowledge and my skills continuously. The possibilities seem endless, particularly through networking and exchanging ideas with other artists. I consider myself as an artisan. My aim is to create beautiful papers for bookbinding and other decorative purposes. I love to see my two-dimensional papers change into three-dimensional objects, enhancing them with a new life.

Gülhan Efkar Mönchengladbach, Germany I was born in 1973 in Schneittach, Germany and I graduated from the Painting Department of Ismet Inonu Girls School in 1990. In the same year I participated with a painting in a mixed exhibition in Adana. I started learning Ebru from Sevgi Uyar. As a teacher of Turkish language in Germany I saw the traditional arts as a means to improve the integration process for young people and so I started Ebru projects for students. I have learned Ebru from Refii Kileci, Gülay Gültekin and Okan Akın. My students won several prizes in the International East-West Harmony Painting Competition. Today, I work to introduce and have spread the art of Ebru to everyone who is interested in traditional decorative arts in Germany by organizing projects, activities and workshops since 2012. I and my teachers, Refii Kileci and Gülay Gültekin, did an exhibition of Ebru in Saarbrücken in 2015, which was a first in the area. Since 2011, I have organized mixed exhibitions of Ebru with Turkish and German artists.

My education is primarily in photography, which I have practiced since I was 11 years old, while also nurturing my ties with art. I started working with Ebru in 2008 and I continue this love with great enthusiasm as if every day is my first day. With the philosophy of “knowledge which is not taught does not carry value as knowledge, I have introduced many schools and educational institutions to Ebru. I regularly work to introduce Ebru to the masses with focused social projects.

Katerina Momitsa Athens, Greece I am a Greek designer and my work is presented under the brand name Kรกte. The designs are related to the Ebru technique. I use Ebru applied on notebooks, diaries and deco objects. I also design and make jewelry and other decorative objects with the use of various materials and techniques. My first contact with Ebru was when I visited Istanbul a year ago. I instantly fell in love with this art. Ever since, I travel to Istanbul whenever I can in order to attend seminars and workshops. This is an experience which every time reveals how magical and unique Ebru is. I have an art studio in Athens where I practice my Ebru technique. I dream to make Ebru more popular in my country, since people are not familiar with the art and there is a lack of teachers. I hope to gradually start teaching Ebru and through my work help more people enjoy the magical world of Ebru.

Miki Oshita Oska, Japan Istanbul, Turkey I am Miki Oshita and I was born in Osaka, Japan. I have always had an interest in Turkey and its history since I was a little child. I came to Turkey to learn Ebru (Marbling) which is similar to Suminigashi (Japanese Traditional Art). I have been working on Ebru with my master Hikmet Barutรงugil in Ebristan for 5 years. Ebru is deeply rooted in my love of art and in my work with disabled children in Japan by using Ebru as a therapy. I have been helping disabled people for over 10 years and Ebru is a wonderful match for my work.

Yelena Kravchuk Almaty, Kazakhstan www.artbota.kz Born in 1980, I enjoy arts and crafts, fitness, reading, going to the movies, and spending holidays with my family. I also love to travel and explore new places. When traveling, I like to fully immerse myself in the local scenery In 2009 I founded my creative art studio ArtBoTa and received my graduate degree in art therapy. Our team of inspired and committed artists offers our customers (children and adult groups) an insight into intuitive drawing, sand animation, batik painting, decoupage, and Ebru. Our team was introduced to Ebru art in 2011. Fascinated by this art form, we spent the next year experimenting with the paint and the canvas as it was challenging to reproduce the technique with the material available in Kazakhstan. Finally we decided to source our supplies directly from Turkey. My business partner and I offer master classes at the Art BoTa studio. Ebru is a fascinating form of art — a quest for harmony of colors and ornament — therapeutically engaging and exciting. There is, I think, an element of magic when the images are transferred from the water to the paper.

Inga Pelša Riga, Latvia I am an engineer-economist by education and a project manager by occupation. By nature, I am a very creative person, and an artist in heart and soul. Since my childhood, I combined a good knowledge of mathematics and languages with singing in the choir and attending classes in visual and applied arts. However, I chose the road of exact sciences. I graduated from the Faculty of Management and Economic Informatics at the University of Latvia. I studied business management at the Free University of Brussels and European law and policy at the University of Nancy in France. Holding responsible positions both at work and in public organizations, I have always dealt with life through the prism of music and colors and from time to time, I have returned to creative activities. I love music, traveling, and photography. I sing in the Riga Orthodox Chamber Choir “Blagovest“. I discovered Ebru in 2013, and it was “love at first sight”. In parallel to studying classical Ebru, I work to introduce a Baltic fingerprint on my Ebru. The course of time, patterns of life, music of colors, travels of the soul – these are favorite themes.

AuĹĄra Lazauskiene Tallin, Lithuania I was astonished when I saw an Ebru video for the first time in 2011. I knew at that moment that I had to try it. My first attempts proved my initial reaction and the results were overwhelming. This “new“ technique looked magical and full of surprises. In the same year a great master, Fatih Yesil, came to Lithuania and gave me an opportunity to see what Ebru could look like at the hands of a master. Fatih gave me technical knowledge, and showed the point of view that one must have while practicing Ebru. Afterward there were long years of hard, individual work during which I realized that I am mostly interested in traditional Ebru patterns, their techniques and quality. Recently I became curious about the history of Ebru art, marbled papers and how the art spread in Europe throughout the years. I have learned a great deal about the old patterns and the changes that arose in the patterns, names and colors depending on the region and different mindset of the people who practiced and influenced the state of Ebru today. If you ask me today what kind of words for me correlate with the word marbling, I would point to tenacity, continuous work and enormous satisfaction that comes with the good results.

Rodica Parvan Bucharest, Romania I was born in 1958 in Bucharest and spent my childhood in my parent’s house and outdoors, in a total freedom of movement, and in touch with people and nature. I graduated with a degree in Engineering, and though I work in construction, I’ve always had a passion for art and decoration. About one year ago, I was introduced to Ebru by Yunus Emre Enstitűsű Bucuresti during the Bucharest art workshop and during the organized courses in Istanbul with the project Ustadan Çirağa. From the beginning it was love at first sight and it has become a great passion. Every work creates the impression that my feelings are floating on the water and then transferred to paper to remind me of all my emotions. Ebru represents the possibility of dreaming with eyes wide open, the possibility of flying between the clouds, to feel the wind and the sun, to admire the beauty of nature I want to thank the organizers of the Ebru Patchwork Project and also I appreciate your effort and desire to continue this traditional art. I love Ebru.

Aleksanrda Lots Krasnoyarsk, Russia www.myebria.ru In 2012 I graduated from the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University as a teacher of Russian language and literature. In 2013 I took an Ebru class from Tatiana Kirillova. For more than 3 years I have drawn on water and I have been teaching both children and adults. In 2015 in Krasnoyarsk Museum I established the “Ebria“ studio, in the Krasnoyarsk where in addition to teaching Ebru I lead excursions. Every year in September during International Day of Ebru, I organize Ebrufest. My pedagogical education has helped me to adapt Ebru for children. I am teaching kids from 4 years old, but some of my students are 2.5 years old and one was event 13 months old! Since May 2015 I have regularly engaged with children with limited abilities by using Ebru. After Ebru lessons, some kids begin to engage with the traditional crafts and draw in other techniques. Some begin to write, using hand and a pen, not some eGadget. Most rewarding, some children start talking after taking Ebru classes.

Anna Prigoda Moscow, Russia www.ebru-show.ru The first time I saw Ebru was 2 years ago in the summer of 2014. I immediately wanted to try it despite the fact that prior to this, I had no art background whatsoever. I‘m a Lawyer! In the two years since, Ebru has had a very strong impact on my life, creating harmony and strength. The most important thing for me in Ebru is the process itself, which gives me great pleasure and fills my life with a creativity that for so long was a missing part.

Elena Blagoslavova Moscow, Russia I was born in Volgograd, Russia. I graduated from the Volgograd Polytechnic Institute in 1988 and in 1995 I graduated from the Volgograd Pedagogical University. I worked as a teacher of computer science and computer engineering and I live and work in Moscow. As a child I loved to draw. However, my serious passion for painting started only 5 years ago. I was introduced to Ebru in 2014. My first reactions were surprise and delight, which has since been replaced by an interest in the origins and culture of this art. As a result, I started to learn Turkish. For me, Ebru is not only a wonderful water world, concealing secrets and discoveries, but also philosophy, and the culture of many artists working in this technique. I never cease to be amazed by the beauty and organic nature of Ebru — in co-creation with nature unpredictable art works are born!

For me Ebru was a starting point on the road to myself. Ebru has taught me to enjoy the moment, to see many color shades and halftones. Ebru helped me to understand the expression “be present“ and it has made my dreams come true. I was taught Ebru by some of the best artists of Russia and Turkey. Nailya Lotfy Moscow, Russia Nailya Lotfy — artist mozaist, calligrapher. I started with Ebru in 2015. Ebru for me — is the art of expressing the love and the beauty of the soul in the material world. In Ebru, no one work is like another, each piece is its own exclusive and unique creation. Ebru is the sacrament and the birth of the new creation. Ebru teaches patience and bring you closer to the divine. The interaction with water helps the practitioner to feel peaceful and quiet. And every time you start a piece, you witness the birth of a new design and pattern.

Intuorn Molteni Samut Prakan, Thailand It was 2006 in Florence, Italy with my husband when I first began to study marbling... Recently, my two young boys turned 5 and 7 years old. In an effort to distract them from their electronic devices, I was inspired to introduce the art of marbling to them. It was wonderful... They instantly fell in love with it. I started sharing my art online and was motivated to present my work at the International Innovative Craft Fair 2015 in Bangkok. That’s how the story begins... I always enjoy watching everyone react to their own marbling art works. It’s a great pleasure to bring this beautiful art from the studio where it can be enjoyed and explored by all ages who are interested to learn.

I created the first Russian language web-site providing information about Ebru, and to provide training for professionals. I was the first participant from Russia to be invited to celebrate World Ebru Day and I was part of the Guinness World Record effort in Gaziantep (Turkey), in 2013. I have given 14 interviews in mass media, participated in 15 exhibitions in Russia and Turkey, and I held a personal exhibition “Letters to the Ocean” in Museum Of The World Ocean in 2015 (Kaliningrad, Russia). For me, painting on water means to be alive, to be in the present, attentive and observing. Practicing Ebru opens many new doors to explore your creativity. If you are free, flexible and persevere, you will always get to your goal. This wisdom I learned from water. Interacting with water and paints we return to our self and our inner source of strength.

Turkan Olgaç Istanbul, Turkey I was born in Zonguldak, and I am happily married to the theater artist Atilla Olgaç. For a very long time I worked in advertising agencies, press and public relations and as a journalist. At first, I began Ebru as a hobby. However, Ebru has grown into an important part of my life. For me, Ebru’s most important trait is found in its uniqueness. The same work cannot be done by any other artist, it is an individual work done by the individual artist. My Ebru has been featured in 28 domestic and foreign exhibitions and I am currently working to join UNESCO as an ambassador.

Irina Alekseeva Kiev, Ukraine www.ebru-art.com.ua Sometimes it takes time to fall in love. Sometimes it takes a single moment. A single glance, a look. For me, it took a single drop of paint. In a singular moment in time, when the paint touched the surface of the water, I fell in love with Ebru. That moment ended one part of my life and thrust me into a new one. It’s been more than 3 years since that moment, but each time I pick up the brush I still remember the first quiver of delight from that moment of magic. Today, when I work with people, I sense that same feeling when they have their first experience with Ebru. My daughter was the initial inspiration for my first Ebru master class. I also have to recognize Angelina Zolotaya, who touched me with her passion for Ebru and became my teacher and mentor. Thank God I have the opportunity and pure joy to do what I love! January 31, 2013 — The moment. I fell in love with Ebru. March 2013 — The first time held a master class and shared my love with others. Since then I have been giving master classes for children and adults on a regular basis. February 14, 2014 — The first time I created a story on the surface of water. The story was about a good ghost whose dream was not to scare people, but instead, to fall in love. Today and every day going forward, my love of Ebru grows.

Natalia Dragunova Kiev, Ukraine www.ebru.com.ua All my life, from early childhood till now, has been connected with art. So everything that I do in my life as an architect, a designer, and as an artist is not a job for me — it‘s a Lifestyle! Ebru came to my life in the middle of 2011,when I saw the works of Turkish Ebru master Fatih Yesil, who later became my teacher. My first practical experience with Ebru came some 6 months later, and the next 5 years showed me how complicated but at the same time beautiful and magical Ebru art is! I have learned and continue to master all the main traditional Ebru-patterns; I can create works with a wide range of sizes and color gammas. For now my “Ebru way” already has a few directions for development: ● I conduct regular Ebru classes for people who would like to try Ebru as art ● I create marbled paper for restoring old books ● I have started to use Ebru in interiors to transfer patterns on gyps, wood and fabric. ● I believe this unique old technique can magically inspire and influence people — the same way as it changed and embellished my life.
