According to: -International Agency UNESCO Culture is an essential investment in the worlds future and pre- condition to successful globalization processes that take into account the principles of cultural diversity -National Agency Culture is the reflection of the society, people, behaviour and attitude -Local Agency Culture unites indivuals and it serves as the reflection of their true identity

Education

According to: -International Agency UNESCO Education transforms lives, believes that education is a human right for all throughout life and that access must be matched by quality. National Agency National Historical Institute Ducation is responsible for ensuring access to, promoting equity in and improving the quality of basic education Local Agency Education is a process of facilitating in learning as an enlightening experience ,a day with those kids was an education in patience and forbearance. Cultural Education According to: -International Agency Paedagijica Historica Cultural education is an important element of relating education to a developing national cultue, of the attempt to reconcile a minority indigenous culture to the hegemonic culture of national majority National Agency NCCA Applying cultural values in education and nurtures the sense of belonging, identity, and strengthens community participation Local LGU Mogpog Cultural education promotes appreciation and understanding history and cultural heritage

a. Art form/ genre  pottery – well known in Poctoy Torrijos.

Weaving – provides and promote livelihood and entrepreneurship in Devilla, Santa Cruz with their different handicraft creations.

Kalutang – are identical pairs of wood from twatingan and bayog trees , endemic to Marinduque which when banged together produce notes of definite pitches and tonal quality. Kalutang especially in the town of Gasan has been associated with the Moriones of yesteryears.

Putong - a creative traditional ritual in the island to honor and welcome the local and foreign tourists.

b. Cultural Heritage  Baluarte – a concrete structure in Brgy. Lapu-Lapu, Santa Cruz, Marinduque that was built 18th Century. The place serves as eyes for Marindukanons during the attack of Moros.

Santa Cruz Parish Church - One of the oldest structures in the Province of Marinduque that was built on 1714.

Luzon Datum – declared as the geographical reference point of the country.

c. Cultural Icons  Morion Mask - symbolizes the century old tradition of pagmomoryon during Lenten Season.

Ati-atihan Festival

Bila-bila Festival – one of the colorful festive in Boac, Marinduque featuring the life cycle of butterflies.

Moriones Festival –shows the Marindukanon’s religious activity/practice. Marinduque is known as the Lenten Capital of the Philippines. The participants use morion masks to depict the Roman soldiers and Syrian mercenaries within the story of The Passion of Christ.
