Time. An empowering entity more than a metaphysical sphere that upholds reality, defies realms and kings but defines life in the scopes of humanity’s flesh. Time is the tablet for stories carved by the past, the bloodstream of history that profoundly emanates present’s reality. The island province of Marinduque is a pillar of stories more than a century’s past. Our history, our bygones, culture, and traditions from religion to the very vein of our identity as told by the story tellers of the past in the 21st century reality. The book echoes a journey to the past and a walk in coping with the present from the voices of the old natives of Marinduque. From the dilemma of their denials of a foregoing contemporary world to the lives of living in the past within a reality defined by the present. As we blink from a second to an hour, we become the bearers of our generation. This book is the lens that captures time in retrospect of our “lolos” and “lolas” drenched from the ills of history to the graceful simplicity of Marinduque’s past.
