Igpaw: Intramuros - Design of an Augmented Reality Game for Philippine History1 Igpaw: Intramuros is an alternate/augmented reality game about Philippine history developed by the Ateneo Laboratory for Learning Sciences (ALLS) of the Ateneo de Manila University. It uses an adventure game format to introduce players to historical figures, places, and events. The premise of the game is that a malevolent being has displaced historic figures from the past. The player embarks on various quests in order to restore these characters to their correct time periods, visiting several key historic locations within Intramuros and learning about Philippine history in the process. The game is a creative technological application for the promotion of Filipino history and culture. Developing a Geodatabase of Ancestral Domains Using ArcGIS A persistent struggle for the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) of the Philippines is the conflict between property rights of private individuals or entities and the cultural rights of IPs over ancestral domain. At times, institutional policies on land management and urban development activities conflict with the IP’s traditional means of claiming land ownership. 1

ArcGIS is a system for the management, analysis, and display of geographic information. A geodatabase of recognized ancestral land domains, constructed through an array of information such as IP land ownership titles, IP population, and regional topographies, could help inform and design better interventions for potential land disputes that may arise. Color-Mood Analysis in Filipino Films Colors are essential in visual storytelling. Colors set the tone and mood of the scenes, and spark emotional responses from the audience, even without dialogue or text. Colors may also influence how we subconsciously respond or relate to characters. Having a good understanding of the psychological link between colors, and emotions and moods can help visual artists utilize the full capacity of colors to achieve the desired associations and reactions in viewers.
