1. Toast Rack/Hollings Building This iconic building was built in 1958 & has become one of Manchester’s most recognisable landmarks.
12. Rutherford Lodge Did you know that the physicist who first split the atom once lived around the corner from you? Look out for the blue plaque.
2. Withington Baths Built in 1913, these baths became well-known for making no distinction between first & second-class bathing. It was also the first baths in Manchester to allow mixed bathing.
13. Withington Methodist Church Gorgeous Victorian architecture near Wilmslow Road.
3. St Paul’s Church Built for £2,700 in 1832, its first organ was played by the composer Felix Mendelssohn. This friendly church welcomes people from all backgrounds. Look out for wild flowers in the church grounds over the summer as well as a host of tree varieties.

4. Platt Fields Park Dating from medieval times, this park contains many ‘gems’ including the Shakespearean Garden, the boat house & a heart-shaped lake dug entirely by hand. Look out for the 9th Century Nico Ditch. 5. Gallery of Costume This amazing gallery houses one of the largest collections of fashion in the country. 6. The Fallowfield Loop At 8-miles long, this cycle path is the UK’s longest. Built on a disused railway, this fabulous route links Chorlton with Gorton. 7. 256 Fallowfield The former school still retains many original features, as well as serving up a mean burger. 8. Fallowfield Railway Station Much of the original station still exists since having been converted into a supermarket. Look out for original features as you walk in to buy your bananas. 9. Old Moat Park This amazing space is right in the heart of Withington & Old Moat & provides great space to walk, play sport & even to kick back & relax. 10. Withington Library Designed by Henry Price, the architect of many famous Manchester landmarks, this is one of the many ‘Carnegie libraries’. 11. The Christie Opened in 1932, The Christie is now one of the largest cancer treatment & research centres in Europe.
14. Fallowfield Stadium Host to the 1893 FA Cup, 45,000 spectators watched the match in a stadium designed for 15,000. This meant many had no view of Wolverhampton Wanderers beating Everton 1-0! 15. Wilmslow Road Formerly a turnpike road & then busy tram line linking Manchester to Wilmslow, now one of Europe’s busiest bus routes. 16. St Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Church 17. The Water Trough (1876), Copson Street Stone drinking trough for horses, inscribed with an Old Testament passage: "that ye may drink, both ye & your cattle, & your beasts." 18. White Lion Pub Despite this Grade II listed building being converted into a local supermarket, many of the original stained glass windows survive as does the well in the basement. 19. Incredible Edible South Manchester sites Using spare land to grow fruit & vegetables for the whole community to enjoy. 20. 42 Everett Road Birth place of Robert Donat, Academy Award winning actor. 21. Firs Botanical Gardens 22. Fallowfield Secret Garden 23. Platt Chapel 24. The Firs (now Chancellors Hotel) Built for Sir Joseph Whitworth in 1850. 25. The Red Lion This Grade II listed pub is Withington’s oldest building with it being built at least 200 years ago. Don’t forget to give bowling a shot when you visit!
