THE CITY OF NEW YORK OFFICE OF THE MAYOR NEW YORK, NY 10007
May 19, 2021
Dear Friends: Gala.
It is a pleasure to welcome everyone as the Manhattan School of Music hosts its Virtual
Established in 1918, Manhattan School of Music stands out as one of the world’s top conservatories, offering instruction in classical and jazz music, opera, voice, composition, musical theater, and more to a diverse student body. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this outstanding institution has worked hard to continue delivering its excellent programs while maintaining safety protocols, and it has also engaged and inspired audiences in the five boroughs and beyond through its free online live performances and master classes. As you gather virtually to advance its mission, I applaud everyone associated with MSM for their contributions to our vital performing arts sector, and I look forward to the many ways its gifted students, faculty, and alumni will further enrich our dynamic creative community as we rebuild and recover from this crisis. Together, we will restore our city’s cultural and economic vibrancy and come back stronger and more united. On behalf of the City of New York, please accept my best wishes for a wonderful event and continued success. Sincerely,
Bill de Blasio Mayor
Thank you for joining us!
