Tuition And Fees

c onfirmation Fee

Newly admitted students are required to submit a non-refundable $500 fee upon notice of their acceptance to manhattan School of music. t his fee represents confirmation of enrollment.

Tuition

Full-time tuition (12-18 credits) for all d egree and d iploma Programs $53,500

Part-time tuition (less than 12 credits) $3,000 PER CREDIT

Annual Fees

Required of all students, including those students registered for 0 credit courses.

g eneral Student Fee: $1,100 per academic year (billed as $550 per semester)

Housing Costs

Housing Fee: $500

For those students residing in Andersen Hall, the following room rates apply: triple Room: $9,425

Standard d ouble: $11,400

Regular Single: $15,875

Premium Single: $16,800

Meal Plan

All students are required to participate in a declining balance meal plan; the amount of the plan is different for commuting students and students residing in the residence hall. t he charge for the meal plan will be on the student’s invoice and the monies will be applied to their id card. t he annual cost of the meal plans are as follows: c ommuting Students $600 Resident Students

Barnard Surcharge

For those students wishing to take elective courses at Barnard c ollege, a tuition surcharge will apply. A charge of approximately $110 per credit for Barnard courses, in addition to the regular m Sm tuition, will be added to the account. c urrently only undergraduate students are eligible to take courses at Barnard c ollege.

Student Use of m anhattan School of m usic Facilties

tuition payment provides access to manhattan School of music facilities only when classes are in session, and does not include the intercessions or summer vacation. c ollege students have limited access to manhattan School of music facilities on most Saturdays when the Precollege d ivision is in session. manhattan School of music reserves the right to enforce rules for facilities usage at all times.

A student may request to have their course registration canceled without tuition and fees liability prior to the first day of classes. t he student must contact the Registrar’s o ffice to request cancellation of registration. t he deadline to cancel registration without tuition and fees liability is:

Fall 2023: September 5 at 11:59 Pm

Spring 2024: January 7 at 11:59 Pm o nce a student attends class or uses m Sm’s facilities/ services, the student may not cancel classes. A withdrawal from mSm must be processed.

Withdrawing from a semester occurs once the semester commences and requires the student to process a withdrawal. t he student initiates a withdrawal by contacting the d ean of Students.

Upon completion of the withdrawal, the student will have all courses dropped from their schedule. Students who complete the withdrawal process within a refund period (see the withdrawal schedule below) receive a pro-rated refund based on the effective withdrawal date approved by the Registrar. Students who fail to request a withdrawal remain enrolled; all tuition and associated fees are the responsibility of the student to pay.

Students who withdraw from m Sm during the refund period are eligible for a refund on tuition and if applicable, housing. No other fees are eligible for a refund. Before a refund is issued to a student, mSm must make appropriate refunds to financial aid programs, if applicable. t he final amount of a refund will be reduced based on the adjustments with financial aid, and/or any prior amount owed to m Sm t he pro-rated refund schedule is stated below.
