Dress to

impress

Time to say hello to Autumn 2011 and the new college year. A year which promises limitless opportunity. The opportunity to start fresh, to find yourself, to broaden your horizons and to make new friends. However, for all you nervous freshers out there, new beginnings can be quite daunting. That little voice in your head, has you worryingWhat if you don’t like your course? Or worse- What if your course doesn’t like you? Picking the right outfit can be vital to help you establish who you are and what you’re all about. Remember, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Ellen, no doubt made a strong impression on her fellow Visual Merchandising classmates in DIT Mount Joy Square, in her extremely cute, yet grungy, outfit. Dressed in all black her outfit contrasts with her red hair making it standout and look even more vibrant. We also love her H&M cycling shorts which are perfect for wearing under a dress or shorts, that you feel are that little bit too short. Her bowler hat and creepers complete the look, giving it that extra edgy feel. Ellen’s outfit shows her confidence to stand out from the crowd and make heads turn. We can certainly see the influence of her style icon, Sky Ferreira, with her look. Richard, who has just started in Ballyfermot College, looks casual and fresh. The Skinny jeans, jumper and black trench look guarantees to make you look well. Richard, shows personality and support for local clothing label ‘Fuckin’ Filthy’ by wearing a filthy club hoody. Richard says he gets his inspiration for his clothes from the alternative hip hop collective; Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. Hannah, a fresher in Accountancy and Financing in DCU, looks chic and classy. This girl knows how to dress well and at an affordable price too, as her outfit is made up of clothes from Pennys and Exhibit. Just because it doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket doesn’t mean its not fashionable. It seems that urban outfitters is a favourite among the girls in communications, DCU, this year. Lucy, Kate and Ali all look very trendy in their urban gear. Urban outfitters is great for finding the perfect outfit as they constantly get new stock and even have an urban renewal section where you’ll find restored second hand clothes. However, their clothes can be quite expensive, so be sure to have your travelcard with you for your 10% discount!

Before you open your mouth, your outfit is the basis of some ones first impression of you, so choose what you wear wisely- it really does establish who you are.
